we are all waiting see your beauty topless. :)
I was thinking about my post from last night. I am pragmatic. I know that if I were to buy a 5K-20K mi. car, I would have all the appreciation and none of the guilt feeling that I might be taking away from the community, something that they may wish to see and which could not be replaced. Then I would drive that car. I would keep the red drop top. Because I do not want to own cars that I do not want to drive. It is against my constitution. Some one will be getting a nice black car. Wagers? A round of drinks?
nice blue 512tr. very much doubt they will ever get that price for it. but good effort. too bad its rhd
OK, Not that topless!! Certainly a tribute to Richard Straman.. Of all the TR conversions...His was the most Balanced. I have had some time to examine my car, since I have 2 testarossa's It is easy to compare what has been changed.. There are 2 levels of re inforcement..The first being the square tube frame below the original frame. the second being above the chassis frame and connecting the front of door frame under the A pillar to the rear door frame under B pillar via tubing and triangular welded Gussets. almost like a step over when getting in car, all recovered in leather. Very well done..The door opens and close perfectly when on a lift.. Well Done Mr. Straman where ever you are! I like this car alot, still gonna probably have to sell one or the other ! Cant figure out which one I like better...its a draw! The Red car is one wild ride Though! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Putting the bet a side for a moment.. If your thinking about which one to keep.. Your crazy not keeping the black one.. Its mint and you can still use the car. I think the red one looks nice but I'm not crazy about the convertible.. I don't like the way the top looks.. all wrinkley.. I'm not crazy how the window looks when the top is up.. It does not appear to seal nicely.. Now.. you want to sell the black one to make some money.. I get it.. but if money is not a thang.. The black one is the one to keep.. The red one needs some work and I'm putting it politely.. R
I quite like the shape of the top and the whole concept of a TR ragtop... To me, Straman used the 250 cal spyder top as a reference for the retractable top, its high point is over the head and it has those elite snob flaps that shield water in the event of rain, and then juts down quickly to deck lid. It has an outrageous factor that few other cars have today or yesterday. As I stated the red car needs about 10g's in cosmetics only, and then a loud exhaust. this is the way I got it..it hasn't been detailed so looks are deceiving. That top can be steamed out in a sec. its 24 years old, all vintage cloth tops do that, after being down... give it a few months and I'll have it in top form. The engine is up to date and mechanicals including a new updated differential are already in. Car has 9500 miles so its not that late to improve on. I would stay with either , In the Hamptons a convertible is the way to go.
Don't worry Robbie, at the price he is asking for the black one, he will be keeping it forever.............
