SC owners

I know when my friend with his 355 is back in town on Dec 6 we are planning on doing a drive. Probably Charleston to Savannah for lunch and back. I don't have an Fcar, just a corvette.

 

Cool, let's get up and see if we can set something up.

I would totally be up for a run later down the road. I always love getting up mid morning and going for a spirited run down to Savannah on the weekend and having shrimp and grits for lunch at Alligator Soul. I don't think I'll be able to make this trip though and I'm bummed about that.

 

James - that sounds like fun! Let us know if you want some company next time you make that run. What route do you usually take?

 

With proper planning, which actually takes a lot of work on my part, I could join you with my fiance...that said, I need advance notice to make sure she isn't working and to get a babysitter for my daughter if it's on a weekend. That's why I never make it to local events.

 

Well before I depart CHS, I usually stop at the shell station at the corner of Calhoun and Meeting to top off. It's kinda a road trip tradition I've adopted.

I usually head west on Savannah Hwy (Hwy 17) and merge with I-95 just off exit 33. From there, depending upon traffic conditions I may open her up from time to time just to shake off the cobwebs, but avoid doing anything ridiculously stupid.

I take exit 17 off I-95 (just south of Hardeeville) and follow the road to the Talmadge Memorial Bridge which crests over the river and offers a descent view of downtown Savannah.

 

Whenever I go to Savannah, I never hit 95...just stay on the local roads. Makes for a nice drive, but in an F150...

 

I don't get into town for another couple weeks. (I'm currently rounding the southern tip of Barbados right now)

Gil - I get into town on Dec 6th. Hopefully that will be enough time to make arrangements if you are looking to join us. It would great to have you and you fiance come along.

 

Exams are finished the 6th so I can't make any drives until after then. Law school is one jealous mistress ***** who runs my life. Is that what marriage is all about?

 

Maybe we could do the weekend on the 10th or 11th of Dec. Hopefully the weather won't be too bad. I don't mind driving in cooler weather. Hell, the car seems to run better.

 

Marriage is similar except without the sex part.lol

 

I'm up for a drive this weekend too.
