i just wanted to throw this out. i have been on Cupid.com for a few months, trying to meet someone local that i relate to. the Cliff's Notes version is i was contacted by a woman ( i did not contact her ) saying she was moving to Savannah soon as nurse. she claimed she grew up in Savannah and that she was looking to come back and stay. 2 months of talking on the phone, emails, pictures, and then it happened. she said she had a job interview and asked for a bit of help with the airfare, with the intent of using the trip as a means for us to meet in person for the first time. so my stupid self sent her $500.00 Western Union. with the fees it totaled $551.00 . she had no car ( another story) and gave the name of a friend to make the wire out to. with her backstory, this did not seem a bad request to me at the time. remember we have been talking constantly, and we never talked about money. i have the time stamped email from Western Union that the funds were picked up around 730 am thursady morning, as she was supposed to be on a 430pm flight here. i have not heard a word from her, nor has she returned my calls or emails. the money matters little to me. the fact that i got taken while trying to help someone i thought i knew is what bothers me. the girls name is Jennifer Landi, JENNL1 on Cupid.com she had me send the funds to a Deanna Orzechowski in Biddiford Maine. Jenn's number is 207-499-1056 the only street / address info i have is a street named Reynolds Brook Drive. any advice would be great, as i have not acted on this at all, but i cannot let it go.
i'm sorry this happened to you, but it happens to the best of us sometimes. tell that to my using, cheating, ex gf (long story, and a few hundred bucks ago)
Ummm....wow, but don't let it get to you! Valeria has a new swimming pool and landscaping, and I live across town in a new apartment! Some nice jewelry was left behind too.... Two ways to look at it, reaper, I was given a girl's name by my divorce attorney he thought we'd hit it off, we did ....next thing she was evicted, I grabbed a stake bed from work and moved her and gave her I dunno $700 -800 for rent, now she was working the River Oaks Origins store, came with the personal rec and everything..... we 'broke up' the following week, .... Heck I loaned a 'new friend' some gas money just last month, and I doubt I have lost it...people just are on hard times these days... Now this deal with you sounds like the way the Russian Mafia works in this country, there's been some horrific murders, and kidnapping on the west coast.....so be careful now that they know YOU...... She worked six weeks for $500 bucks the way I see it, pretty low pay for a low life......you'd have spent more on a few weekends with her I am sure! I dunno the answer for guys like us...you just gotta get OUT THERE, I went to a party last week and met a 26 y.o. Replica Valeria, same deep brown eyes, long jet black hair, awesome looks and shape....she's got my number now I didn't even write hers down after taking her out to dinner in the Ferrari.........
I agree. And be glad you didn't end up dating her and getting even more screwed. It is a bit odd that she invested several months worth of time and energy for $500, but I've seen people do some pretty strange things.
Aren't the 207-4xx phone numbers reserved for the anonymous cash-only cell phones that are sold in truck stops? Anyway, you got out cheap. Imagine what she'd take you for if you met her! (hey, want to hear taudry stories of dating strippers?!)
"Replica Valeria" is named Carla, after the Hurricane that destroyed my childhood home, back in '63...... I do hope she calls though, she said she wanted to link with some local architects and engineers I know, on business.. "Scammed by a woman", dude my first wife got the house!!!
500 for six weeks of work times as many guys in the region that she could possibly get to help her out might come out to a decent sized paycheck. I think Western Union is the international red flag that you are about to get scammed unless you absolutely positively know the person on the other end (IE FAMILY OR WIFE/HUSBAND). Lesson learned and just be thankful knowing that a person like this will be in the gutters and broke in a matter of a couple of months.
Carla is my back up plan, I'm really looking forward to helping my new friend Judith with the air conditioning in her house, her stage name is Ruby Slippers and she wears this really fine red headed wig on stage.... She had surgery recently and I hope she doesnt see this pic, with her rivals the Panic Dolls.. We were dancing to the Holiisters as Valeria was out of town this weekend and doesn't want to 'date' me, anyway.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
thanks. i doubt i am worth any Mafia folks time / or violence. besides i can take care of myself. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I knew that...the Russain Mafia would sheeit their collective pants and swim home meeting YOU, brudda! I wnet long winded on ya 'cuz you are like me, as gentle a heart as one could hope for, yet all these babes just wipe their feet on us a walk on...... I think I am gonna become self centered and shallow, they always seem to have some tramp on their elbow.......
Sorry to hear about that...Its never a good feeling to have been 'taken' I met a chick on Match.com once and she did the same thing...asked for money for a plane ticket to come visit..I said Id buy a ticket but not send any cash (i could always get it refunded or changed) She declined...lol..guess I was right !
i have gotten several interesting PM's about this. since Cupid.com is Public Domain, these are the pics of " Jenn Landi " Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
that is probably stolen from a different website, most likely MySpace, Facebook or another dating site. My law partner has represented people who have had their image stolen and used for ads for Adult Friend Finder and other sites.
First of all ... that blonde girl in the photo is NOT the scammer. No one is going to give you a photo of themselves and then SCAM you. There are billions of photos avail all over the internet. Photobucket, google images, dating sites ... everywhere. Billions of them. I backchecked this site and it is on the main internet scam page for the FBI. This is old news. They are called Cupid Scams. Mostly happens to widowed women or older women. The whole Nigerian thing where they send you a cashiers check for say $100k and all they ask is that you send $5K so that they can fly to USA. But little do you know that the check is fraudulent and you are left owing the bank 5K thirty days later when they can't get it to clear. But the biggest scammers in the world ... are the ones that want to marry you. So file a report with as many agencies as you can and then be grateful you never met the trash. http://www.ic3.gov/ cj
