I bought an Autel MS 808 OBD2 scan tool found out when I tried to download vehicle software Ferrari not supported. Does anybody know of a decent tool that will work on the Ferrari? Specifically 2011 California but I’m sure there is a range of vehicles that would be included. I have asked Autel but have not heard back from them. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
I would wait for their call back .. when I was looking I know for sure the maxisys pro 908 j2534 did cover Ferrari Maybe you can trade that back in and get the higher model ?? The launch x431 torque ...Chinese knock off seems to be able to do more than a few things in Ferrari What are you looking to do .. Sent from my moto x4 using Tapatalk
The Launch tool is a hack of the Leo software. I do have it and use it on my Maserati. Don't expect to ever get support because they 100% ripped off the software and don't know anything about how it works
Correct .. but giving op options .. let's see what he wants to do .. the launch may be a jack of leo software but it is also the same software MAC tools sells .. for the cost .. it covers all cars (maybe not complete) but it may be worth it for some considering the higher costs of others .. the autel and autoenginuity with full coverage is about 3 k Sent from my moto x4 using Tapatalk
You need to tell us what you want to do. I like Dave do not support th hacked versions but not to say what you may want to do could be simple and they might work.
Thanks to all for the input. I do not know what I really want to do. I do want to be able to see what is going on if I get some crazy thing like the tft screen freeze I had about a month ago. I’d like to know what the tool can do. Maybe I don’t need one with Ferrari support for just reading and clearing simple universal codes. The Autel MX808 I had may have been adequate for this but I was expecting it to have some Ferrari specific functionality. Did not want a $400 brick. I sent it back for refund. $2000 to $3000 devices not going to be worth it to me and probably way above my level of being able to use it. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
So, my tech friend Matt informed me SDX currently does not support California's - the factory tool for them is DEIS
So the SDX covers all models that use SD1, SD2 and SD3 plus 458 for an additional software fee. Perhaps they have added coverage since I was provided a quote about a year ago
Its quite possible your correct I am not pssitive by any means I was lkely incorrectly told it did many years ago.
