Does anyone have any experience with scanners at F1? I am looking for a recommendation on a scanner to listen to the team radios during an F1 race. I am not even sure if is possible as some or all teams may be encrypting the data. Thanks for any recommendations.

They used to encrypt the transmissions, but I believe this year, they are forced to have an open channel. What those freqs are I have no clue.

I do not think that the "open line" is for the public but instead it is for the broadcast host. I think that you are out of luck otherwise.

FWIW I took mine to Montreal last year for the GP and they worked as earplugs- nothing else
