This was not fun. I'm in 4th gear (F1) in traffic and the engine shuts off completely. Luckily no one was behind me. After coming to a complete stop the car started ok. I checked the manual but I can't find any reason why the engine would turn off. Obviously I'm taking the car into the dealer tomorrow and hope there is an error code that pin points the problem.
Is it possible that a loose battery connection would cause the engine to shut down?

That's doubtful as you were able to restart your car.

Maybe it's the wonderful F1 software talking back!

    Get that checked.

Yea, strange. Fortunately with these cars it doesn't seem like there is any major, chronic problem that can be identified, yet. That I'm aware of anyway.

I had something similar happen about 2 years ago when the original battery in my 360 shorted and the car died on me as I was driving through a very busy intersection. Two days later when it was at the shop, the mechanic was able to start it. Even if it is not a faulty battery, swap it out for a US brand.
