SCCA Sprint races will take place at Road America on the weekend of June 25/26/27. In Touring 1 there will be 360 and 430 Challenge cars. A total of 4 Ferraris running that weekend.

I know one of the drivers, so if somebody is interested in meeting them in pitlane etc, send me a PM and I'll establish the contact.

I could run STO, not eligible for T1 anymore.

You should do yourself a favor and run RA at least once in your lifetime. It is one of the best tracks in the world. And I'm not saying this because it is in my backyard. It simply is.

I know. I did my #1 (Laguna Seca), but #2 would be Road America.

Did my Skip Barber and FCA Nationals at RA. Laguna Seca is definitely on my bucket list.

Along with Watkins Glen, Road Atlanta, Nuerburgring and Targa Florio and few others I'm not thinking of now. :)

I will be driving in the Sprints...but in my Miata! Fall-Line Motorsports preps my car and they also prep an F430 Challenge from a customer. What car will you be in? It would be fun to stop by and say hi. Oh, and yes, RA is one of the BEST tracks in the states.

I've worked the June Sprints for the past three years as an SCCA corner worker and trust me - it is some of the best wheel-to-wheel racing you'll see. Guys like RS4Fast are racing Miatas and SRF's in fields of 70-80 cars on track at the same time and the action is intense. As corner workers we have a hard time at the Sprints reporting cars bumping each other and other incidents because it seems like as soon as something happens another incident happens after that.

I also know of one of the Ferrari F430 Challenge cars being campaigned by a Chicagoland businessman and it is a drop-dead gorgeous car (don't tell anyone but I was there just by chance when the truck came by and dropped it off from Maranello) and it will be prepared to race just about as well as a LeMans contender will be. I guarantee that it will be a solid class winning contender, as the driver knows what he's doing and the car will be very well prepared.

If you have an opportunity, go see the SCCA June Sprints. Entrants fight VERY hard to win that race in each class, and you'll see some phenomenal racing.

I'm out of the loop Re sprints I would never tow my car that far too lazy probably never be that good either. I'm in T1 in sopac we are all old C5 vettes. I think they are still letting the 430C run in T1. I don't see how it can loose. I do not think the 430C should be in the class. The vettes are so outclassed. scca gives very little modification to the vettes yet the 430C comes factory like a real racecar with aero. Vettes have an advantage of sheer numbers and good drivers but if the one or two 430c's finish and the driver decent they be on the podium. all things being equal a 430c will kill a ls3 C6vette. Geeze the ls3 vettes are just trying to finish the races with homemade drysumps a reason the C5's are still so popular.

Is that because of the age thing? That will happen to me in 2014. I'm already dipping my toes in STO see my tape job. I have to make the car a lot faster once I leave T1 or buying a C6 so i can stay in T1 but then I have to build a new car. If someone buys my C5 i'd sell it to stay in T1. My problem is I'm too lazy to make a big push to sell it.

Yes. I was only good through 2009. STO is OK, I can run the car as is except for DOT R's instead of slicks. I would just have fun not trying to compete with World Challenge GT cars.

The 355 C on slicks is probably most competitive car in NASA ST3. 360 Challenge in ST2 and 430 Challenge in ST1. It is like they wrote the rules around the Challenge cars. ;) They never expire either.

Thanks...good to know. I always think in the back of my mind I would like to race a ferrari again. If a ferrari fell on my lap (aka really cheap car) I'd be on it in a heartbeat. There is nothing like the magic feel of a ferrari on track.

Had a great time at the Sprints. I ran in the STU class on Saturday and there were quite a few F-cars in the gravel traps...

seemed to be a few off the pace, but at least there are Ferraris racing!

looks like the race was in damp conditions?

What totally surprised me is that T1 was won by an old generation C5 vette due to die because of age in 2014, while a 430C managed only second and should be a totally dominating car.
