As some of you may know, I am an active participant in the SCCA Southwest Region rally competition. The region is putting on a rally school this Saturday the 7th of April. Starting at 11:30AM and running until about 7PM. It will include a classroom session followed by a short rally and then a followup class session to critic your performance on the rally. If you have ever thought that you might be interested in rallying, this will be an excellent way to get your feet wet. I have attached a link to the flyer which includes the signup instructions.
    Some personal notes:
Last year was the first year for the SCCA's new "GTA" rally format. GTA stands for Gimmick, Time, Activity. These rallies differ from the traditional TSD or Time, Speed, Distance rallies by being shorter, more fun orientated and do not require any special equipment to participate in. I have not used my Fcar for any of the rallies yet and honestly probably won't in the future as some of the roads we have been on have been a bit rough. Not much worst that the "Toy Run" or the "Strade de Autumn," but deffinitively potholed. I have been using my Volvo as it offers a good ride and excellent air conditioning. I am hoping that in the future we will be able to include more of the GTA aspects to our spring and autumn runs, so this would be a good chance to improve your skills in this style rally. I hope that some of you can find time to come out and participate with us. If any of you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me and will answer them as best as I can.
