So, I was driving down Bell Road in front of my favorite auto salon and I grazed one of the construction baracades. Smart! This left a white mark on my front bumper, but more severely, a scratch in the paint down to the bare metal on the the passenger door of my Porsche. There is no body damage, it just looks like someone peeled an orange with my paint.

Any good suggestions on how to get this fixed? If a mobile service can do it, that's appealing, but I want it done right. My car is sort of a Grigio color (grey/gold) and metallic, so it could be noticeable. Who does the best work and could potentially do it fast? I HATE looking at it. It makes me feel like an idiot!

Take a few pictures of the damage before you fix it. Its good to have for your records when you go to sell the car. A small scratch is a lot different then a repalced door when it comes to paintwork on a car.

For a silver Cayenne it looks like about $9 in touch up paint, 30 seconds, and a quick explanation to the buyer when you decide to sell it.

Silver is tough to blend properly, I am sure they are quoting a respray of the whole panel.
You have to clear coat edge to edge as well, I've been told by my paint techs....

OTOH, I touch up my single stage paint with a rattle can!

Sorry to hear of your trouble, I was distracted once and drove thru an A barricade the City had left on a concrete patch in the road, the blinky lights and batteries all went bouncing across my hood......talk about embaressed!

Pick up a can of Krylon and swing by any Home Depot on the west side of town early Saturday morning. You'll be all fixed up for less than 20 bux!

Thanks, TT, for the referral. I'll call them today. Then I'm heading down to the Thai Massage place by my office (where is it again?) to see if they have some nail polish that will make it all better!
