Thats true and I agree and hope it does send shockwaves to the big guys. The big thing though that you are forgetting is that this car doesn't have to meet all of the standards that the big manufactures have to. The EPA DOT NHTSA and european counterparts are a labyrinth of regulation which often causes cars to get heavy or loose that race car influence whether it be sound or weight or height of the nose etc... For example there are crash tests that you have to pass and not the typical crash tests we are all thinking of... they have a pedestrian crash test that you have to be able to hit a pedestrian at a certain speed and only cause a certain amount of injury. The pro of the way it seems they are selling these cars they do get to utilize a few loop holes some of the other manufacturers couldn't possibly explore. So it isn't exactly a fair comparison or an apples to apples comparison. Car looks awesome though and cant wait to see it compete!
Great interview here with Shmee, Jim. I really enjoyed it. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixhU_Vlkzb4[/ame] All the best, Andrew.
I think seeing what isn't there in the hope that It doesn't fall off is the greatest form of flattery.
Your wife sounds awesome. Open wells for the driver to see tire - amazing idea. Height fins - so smart. I wonder if they will adjust the GT3 rules now ; ) I love the back...like this car more every time I see it. As a DIY guy, I love that you've made things accessible. ~2500 lbs and ~700HP - LOL. Insane man; I love it. Anything that makes Gordon Murray and Frank Stephenson stop and ask questions is a great accomplishment. I would have loved to overhear those convos. Very happy for you man!
