Hi Jim, just looking at the entry list for Lemans this year and I don't see SCG. Did you not apply or just not accepted - I was hoping to attend and watch your cars show the Fords the fast way around the circuit!
I don't believe SCG even tried Le Mans this year. Actually I think the ACO didn't let them race competitively. From what I know they are going to try for an LMP1 programme, if funds can be raised. Meanwhile, VLN it is...
Latest update just went up on Facebook today: http://www.facebook.com/ScuderiaCameronGlickenhaus/posts/1196779463683858 See the post for details on which cars are racing where this season and their future Le Mans plans.
Sorry to see there are no IMSA plans for SCG. Any particular reason for that? Last weekend I saw the Ford GTs race, and I know darned good & well there aren't 250 of those yet; probably aren't even 2 dozen!
He was last year at the Geneva car show, but you are right this year the line up is very boring.. nothing exciting!!.. I also was hoping to see new arrivals of him to see.. But wasn't there some news at his fanpage and instagram??
003 was considered for evo's Track Car of the Year: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/tracking-driver-education/517323-evo-track-car-year-video-51-59-a.html
Wonder what it would've done in better conditions. Could it have set record from last years mclaren gt3 car? Or this years radical spider? Evo needs to reschedule test to summer time

New article on the street car development: Jim Glickenhaus's Street-Legal SCG 003 Is Here Absolutely love this car.
I hadn't read anything about street version in while so I was starting to think the project was off. Glad to see its moving forward.
Awesome to see it still coming along. I remember Jim taking the time to show a couple of us the first sketches several years ago at Amelia. Car looks amazing, I like the design. I hope he sells enough to take it to Le Mans.
The SCG 003 CS (Competizione Stradale) will just be in a league of its own: - 1000 kg of downforce at 200 km/h. - Less than 1100 kg curb weight with road-legal configuration. - 800 hp and 800 Nm from the road-legal engine set-up. This is more than enough to embarass literally anything at track days and club racing. And then, as if it is not plenty, there's the fact that you can swap in the racing engine and go compete to official 24 h races with basically the same, exact car. The most amazing part is, as Jim himself says, that the car can mantain this level of performance no-stop, as it has truly been engineered as a competition, race car, contrariwise to all the others. Oh, and of course it is beautiful (especially with the new front lights design).
pretty neat car! Hope he achieves his dream. Very cool he set off on this project and it has actually turned into something
I agree with everything you said except your admiration for the new headlights. I find them just "OK" but the rear tails are AMAZING! Like a new take on the Zonda rear end. I'm sure they are easy enough to take off and fabricate a different configuration for an own who can afford this stratosphere of "road car". I wonder how single round headlights ala Bently Mulsanne would fit the front end.
