I would send an email to Schedoni and attach a picture of the luggage. I doubt they will tell you to put any type of leather treatment on it. Possibly because it is an older piece, but check with them first.

Leather care is not necessary, but always welcome for hravy used suitcases. The suitcase shown is like new and doesn't require anything as leather care: if you want you can use a leather conditioner, bit when a suitcase is so shining I prefer to avoid it.

    Ciao

Mauro Schedoni in his atelier in Modena aside one of the suitcases belonging to the legendary "Set 1 BIS" given as a gift at Christmas 1976: Set 1 BIS is the "secret" one.

Here we are at Christmas 2019 and Mauro is showing one of the bag belonging to that precious "Set 1 BIS".

All the story in my book.

    Ciao

For those that have shipped sets before, what is the best method? Bubble/foam insulation and each piece in a separate box or combine together in a larger box?

    I have a 3 piece 456 set I may be parting with.

I always put the pieces in a large trash bag and seal it with tape in case the box, during transit, gets wet or rained on. Also, i use packing peanuts or foam and make sure there is lots of room between the bag and the side of the box. Meaning use a box at least 6 inches larger than the bag in case the side of the box gets cut or punctured. Double boxed is good, but leave space between the boxes. I also tape ALL folds of the boxes. I don't want any water getting in the box at all, no matter what. Every seam tape well. Just my thoughts

I to have never seen that. My 3-piece set in Nero is identical but without the 348 script. I wonder if Schedoni was asked to emboss this set by the original owner. It looks really good, similar to the 355 sets.

I shipped a five piece set to Belgium last year, lots of bubble wrap and extra cardboard packaging, two boxes, one with three pieces, one with two, arrived in perfect shape.
Now, look at the condition of a six piece set I purchased from Germany, last pic. Luckily, the set was not damaged at all but it looked like they threw it off a building and then ran over it with a truck.

For those who asked, the first shipment was by United States postal service., excellent service, it arrived in great shape, the second one was by DHL from Germany, pure trash. No class beat the s*** out of my luggage package and didn't really care about the condition of the package, anyway, do not use DHL for anything valuable.
