So who thinks there may be a possible return of Schumi? Schumi and Kimi side by side. Seeing the photos of Schumi testing in Barcelona makes me wonder if Schumi is getting the itch to get back in the car and compete!

if he really cares about his family then he won't be coming back, from what I understand, his marriage almost fell apart during his F1 career.......

I like things the way they are now, he retired at his best........thats the way to go, not like his brother....old, slow, and nobody wants him.......

    Zero chance.

If he comes back and drives in an F1 race I'll send you a 100 dollar bill.

No matter how much we want him back I think that Ferrari is in good hands right now.. Michael left as a great if not the greatest driver.. I would hate to see him come back and leave as his brother will a big F1 ing mistake.

I think there may be a chance, with Massa doing duty as a test driver. Stranger things have happened in F1 !!

Don't think the marriage almost fell apart, but the wife and his father had a lot to do with his retirement.

There is a song, can't remember the exact name, something about Cat Control, or Feline Control, maybe it was Kitten Control, something to do with cats. That could apply here.

Anyway, no way Michael Schumacher is returning to F1 other than testing. DTM maybe, possible LeMans trek, but no open wheels excepting go karts. Even retired he is in the top 10 money earner atheletes for 2007.

I’m amused reading all the gossip on Michael Schumacher.
Michael is a racer, even though he has retired he still likes to drive and test the latest F2007 at Barcelona. The only reason he was testing the F2007 without TC, so he can give technical advice on how to improved the new F2008.
As for returning to F1 again is absurd!
Also the statement, that his marriage almost fell apart is also absurd.
Michael always stated, while he was active racing, that his family supported him all the way.

Although we might see him racing in some single event like Le Mans. But only if Ferrari returns... thinking about it, that would be amazing.. shame it's very unlikely to happen :(

Actually I think there is a very good chance that Schumacher will get one of the Spyker seats for next year. The team owner is a close friend of Ralf.

Spyker's back in F1 :D? Yeah, I can see Ralfy Boy going to Force India, I don't think he can demand the 20+ mill he was getting before. Ralf has a lot of F1 experience compared to Liuzzi, Klien, and Doornbos? who they are testing right now. Ralf has a good shot at that ride next year, IMO.

For anyone to say the Mikes returning to F1 is absurd does not know much about what make a man on a mission tick. Mikes whole life revolved around racing. He couldnt stay away from testing even when he was told to take a break. He has always loved a challenge. Yes when he retired he and everyone around him thought he would never come back. But as time passes it is very hard for someone who was addicted to something all of his life to stay away from it. A few months ago some called me crazy when I mentioned that he may come back and do some testing. Remember that absence makes the heart grow fonder and also remember that he is still the best driver alive and also in better condition than anyone on the grid this past season. It is still unlikely that he will get back in an F1 car and race but I believe that it is not as unlikely as it was 6 months ago. He could still take another year off and come back and win.....Lets see what happens.

I don't know if Michael will ever race again, none of us do. I would guess not. But it just seems odd that they put him out with the rest of the field like that so that times could be compared. If they wanted his input on TC and new electronics he could have tested another day and the times could have just been rumors. But one day he's superman on a Moto GP bike and then leads the field testing F1, and both receive a lot of press. Just seems odd.

If he ever suits up for another team you will know that LdM was instrumental in retirement.

Cove26 and you get a crisp 100 dollar bill if Michael Schumacher ever takes the wheel of an F1 car in an FIA sanctioned race, qualifying or practice session. This won't include testing as that can be defined by just having him in the car.

A few times over the years Mike came back from vacation early to test when he was not supposed to be there. This is common knowledge and for you to not know this just shows how much of a Ferrrari fan you are. Maybe you should now issue yourself a warning for going against common knowledge as you did me. But I doubt that will ever happen.

thats true. generally, MS never tested before Xmas, but last season ( pre 2006 tests ), MS cut short his holiday and started his duties more than a month earlier i think. it was same back in 1998 and 1999 i think. thats what i read about it.

My whole point is although Schumi is possibly the best driver of all time in F1, he did not win the championship before he retired. I think that may have a huge bearing on him comming back. That is why I posted this question in the first place. Schumi is a fierce competitor and I think he may come back to win the championship one more time and then retire. That way, he could go out on top as the World Champion.

Just a thought, not claiming I know it all, just striking up some conversation and debate.

MS always said, that he would retire once a younger driver would beat him.
