Schumacher - 'I miss racing' Nov.26 (GMM) Little more than a year after retiring from formula one, Michael Schumacher has admitted to missing the competition of racing. The German newspaper Bild describes the 38-year-old seven time world champion as a 'turbo-retiree' after winning the international kart race hosted by his former Ferrari teammate Felipe Massa in Brazil. Before that, he stunned the racing world by going quickest over two days at the Barcelona test, and he is set to return to the F1 cockpit at Jerez next week. Later in December, he will team up with fellow German Sebastian Vettel for the Race of Champions at London's Wembley Stadium. "I do miss racing; the competition," Schumacher is quoted as telling the Italian sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport. "It is only natural. A year has passed even since I raced in karts. I adore it," he said. Alonso has a 60% chance of being in a Renault next year and I'd say MS has a 100% chance to drive any car he wants on the grid. If he comes back next year it'll be along side Hamilton in the McLaren.
1) He is NOT coming back. 2) If he were coming back, it would NOT be with a top driver in the other car.
Come to Miami and I will give you one of our rental Spec Miatas for FREE ! Sebring or Homestead. Nice tracks....show me where I am going wrong (please...)
I'm sure there's a lot he doesn't miss too. He'll hang it up for good except for a few things where he can show he still has it and stroke his ego a bit.
disagree: as Steve McQueen said in "Le Mans"...life is just waiting between races. Nothing like racing. even better if you win. Not just ego, it's life. It's exhilerating!
Unfortunately Luca has shown him the door. His only opportunity to race at an upper level team is at Mclaren (today). He has the ability to elevate Toyota, Honda Etc but perhaps not the time or dedication. Also his legacy is tied to Ferrari. If his inner fire is still there ; I say take the leap.
I really miss him. I think he misses the racing, not everything else that goes along with it. He won't be coming back, sad as it is to say.
I would like to see Michael having another crack at Le Mans in a Ferrari factory-entry. A 599 LM or something like that.
