http://www.planet-f1.com/0,15897,,00.html uuuuhhh, yes i think i would sign on the dotted line, thank you very much !
http://www.bild.t-online.de/BTO/index.html Normally I'm not too hot on German Bild, but this report sounds more serious than their usual reporting, so it might be accurate. The offer is actually 35 million Euros per year for the next 2 years. There is also a WC special clause: If he gets the title this year, he could quit on the spot if he wants to (leaving on a high). MS said it was very realistic, that he stays (meaning continues on in 2007 at Ferrari). According to Bild MS and WW are discussing the details and there is a chance they might even announce the signing at the Ring.
There may be some meat to this as Reuters has picked up the story and they don't usually publish rumor or innuendo. If indeed true IMO it's puts the KR deal in doubt as I just don't see SF footing the salaries for what would be the 2 highest paid drivers. But maybe they will..we'll see...
kr deal already inked. sf get a first option on his services for $5mil, and they already agreed $20mil. after that it is kimi's choice whether or not to stick with uncle ron, but with speedy gonzales coming in, it might be better for the iceman to show up the aging master of the universe than to duke it out with (a likely double) young wc. net/net, i think he goes to sf.
While I agree with your statements I'm curious on what you base "deal already inked". Got some sources to share?
According to the Autosport article I posted a few threads down, Marlboro is willing to pay $70million if it means having a Schumacher/Raikkonen team. They alone will foot the bill for both drivers. The real question is, would they put that kind of offer out there if it was impossible? It certainly adds fuel to the flame of Raikkonen making the change. - Chris
