What do Gallardo and/or other Lambo owners think of people
adding scissor doors to the Gallardo?

Also, do you think Gallardo should have came with scissor doors?

In my humble and minority opinion I believe they should have come with them.

I do agree with the masses that adding them is a big faux pa.

Adding them would be as authentic as someone adding them to their Civic.

I don't mind that they're not on them. Certainly wouldn't be a reason not to buy one for me. As long as they're on the top of the line models ;).

adding them is a big no-no for me, partly because aftermarket scissor doors are just tacky, and they look flimsy (you push them ~20 degrees open first, then up, and they wobble sometimes).

There is a reason they don't have them....Because they are not needed!!! Murcielago and countach designers did'nt say "lets create these doors to be cool", its basic form and function because the cars are so wide.

And yes I think it is incredibly lame for a Gallardo owner,or any other vehicle that does'nt need them, to add scissor doors just for the look at me I am a ****** factor. I have a friend that had scissor doors on his Impala and I refused to ride in his lame ass car even to go around the block. It was also lifted with 26" wheels

The G looks fine with regular doors, would never add scissor doors to it.

    Dear Lamborghinisti,

Naw....they did it cause it's sooooo damn cool !

My 91 Ferrari Testarossa is exactly 2" narrower than my Diablo VT Roadster...it has normal doors.

    But.........

    When the doors go up.....

    ....the panties go down.....

You just can't argue with the facts! :D

in my experience the scissor doors on countach and diablo are really usefull

they help going in and out of the car on thinner boxes and parking spaces and they do help a lot while parking with the door open

they look cool of course and are now a lambo feature as the V12 engines

as already said here, the G does not really need them as much as the murcielago (tks to smaller dimensions), lambo choosed to keep them for the biggest-more expensive model only and it was a good move imo

G production numbers showed it did not need these doors to sell

Gallardo´s should not have scissor doors.Lambo did not put them on their, that should be enough reason.

Scissor doors are only for Countach, Diablo and Murci, thats it.

I don't think that Gallardo's need the vertical doors, but then again, I don't agree with those who are downplaying the Gallardo. I realize that the Murciélago is a monster of a car, especially with that V12. The two cars are in different classes though. Both are awesome competitors. Regardless of which way their doors open up!

The Gallardo should have scissor doors for a couple of reasons. First, it has some long arse doors in case you haven't noticed. When I got my first Gallardo, I pulled into my garage, threw open the door and put a huge door ding in my Bimmer parked next to it. Never had that problem with any other car because there is plenty of space in the garage so I was not being careful. Second, those doors are one thing everyone associates with a Lamborghini and more often than not people are surprised when mine doesn't have them. It a signature for the brand. What the hell does the size of your engine have to do with the kind of doors you put on a car??? Talk about lame.

I'm surprised no one chime in that they added them to their car. I have seen 2 Gallardos with them

i can see why lambo didn't want to put them on, it keeps the flagship model that much more special. the gallado is also supposed to be more user friendly, and i'm sorry those scissor doors are a pita to open and close on a regular basis.
