Maybe... ...but good taste is easy to spot! (For those not in the "know," tonight's choices.) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Honestly it tends to be what ever is in my cleaning schedule or I was carrying that day. They beat that into you in boot camp so I try to keep my stuff dust free and in condition to use in case of Zombies. (Plus it is just another way to show off!)
I keep a gun cleaned, loaded and ready to rock and roll...just not in plain sight those zombies won't know what him 'em.
I am new to the world of single malt scotch but in my travels I always seek out the liquor stores as I carry around a list for my boss as he is the real scotch drinker. Just found out that Dahlmore is being discontinued. It is not a pricey scotch but I did purchase all I could find and ended up with a case of Dahlmore 12 year. My boss likes it. It will reappear in May or June through a different vendor and will be reformulated, so if you found a bottle it may be a unique gift to give. I know they made 12 year and another called Cigar and I believe there was another one. So far 12 year is all I could come up with for him.
Interesting. I had not hear that. I liked the Dahlmore. I will have to see if I can get a box or two if they are going out.
I noticed you posted a picture of the Blue Label "King George V" edition on another thread-- have you (and/or anyone here) tried it? How does it compare to Blue?
I'm heading to England today and someone on another forum mentioned some stuff that is avaliable there that isn't here. Anyone heard of Macallan 1851 Insperation?
i am hijacking the thread but what is the most expensive scotch that you can buy as a gift? I am clueless on the subject, thanks in advance
Springbank 30 is spectacular and readily available......~$11-$1,200 per bottle. There might be some rarer stuff for more if you dig for it but if you're gifting this to a connoisseur, he'll know. **Edit** Here's one: http://www.lovescotch.com/productDetail.php?pid=238
Lagavulin for me. My father is a die-hard Macallan drinker so my exposure to scotch was limited. A close friend owns a restaurant and in one of our many after-hours bottle samplings he suggested the Lagavulin. I've been a believer since then. In fact I picked up a bottle for our place in Florida today so I can survive the Passover Sedar tomorrow night
Lagavulin's my favorite as well. Our Sedar will have the standard Chivas & Dewars, I'm the only Blum who likes the smokey stuff.
Has anyone had cask strength scotch? Ive had quarter cask Laphroaig before, very nice. I dont want to go blind however, just wondered.
I picked up a bottle, it's VERY strong. Not bad with a bit of water and some ice cubes though! Can't remember the brand, I do think it was 117 proof.
