The're my 2 step sisters actually - just call me Cinderella Although this jokes not about me !! Thought this might bring a smile to your lips Cinderella was now 75 years old. After a fulfilling life with the now dead Prince, she happily sat upon her rocking chair, watching the world go by from her front porch, with a cat called Alan for companionship. One sunny afternoon, out of nowhere, appeared the Fairy Godmother. Cinderella said "Fairy Godmother, what are you doing here after all these years?" The Fairy Godmother replied "Well Cinderella, since you have lived a good, wholesome life since we last met, I have decided to grant you 3 wishes. Is there anything for which your heart still yearns?" Cinderella is taken aback, overjoyed and after some thoughtful consideration and almost under her breath she uttered her first wish: "I wish I was wealthy beyond comprehension." Instantly, her rocking chair was turned into solid gold. Cinderella was stunned. Alan, her old faithful cat, jumped off her lap and scampered to the edge of the porch, quivering with fear. Cinderella said "Oh thank you, Fairy God Mother". The Fairy Godmother replied "It is the least I can do. What does your heart wish for your second wish?" Cinderella looked down at her frail body, and said: "I wish I was young and full of the beauty of youth again". At once, her wish having been desired, became reality, and her beautiful youthful visage had returned. Cinderella felt stirrings inside her that had been dormant for years and long forgotten vigour and vitality began to course through her very soul. Then the Fairy Godmother again spoke "You have one more wish, what shall you have?" Cinderella looked over to the frightened cat in the corner and said, "I wish you to transform Alan my old cat into a beautiful, and handsome young man". Magically, Alan suddenly underwent so fundamental a change in his biological make-up, that when complete he stood before her, a young man, so beautiful the like of which she nor the world had ever seen, so fair indeed that birds begun to fall from the sky at his feet. The Fairy Godmother again spoke: "Congratulations, Cinderella. Enjoy your new life." And, with a blazing shock of bright blue electricity, she was gone. For a few eerie moments, Alan and Cinderella looked into each other's eyes. Cinderella sat, breathless, gazing at the most stunningly perfect young man she had ever seen. Then Alan walked over to Cinderella, who sat transfixed in her rocking chair, and held her close in his young muscular arms. He leant in close to her ear, and into her ear breathed as much as whispered, blowing her golden hair with his warm breath, "I bet you regret having me spayed(neutered) now, don't you?"
That is a funny joke! But we rather hear some more info about your two stephsisters! It is great to see that things are really sorting out. The largest cost is the transportation to Scotland with the ferry. Are there no cheaper alternatives? Ton
Yes, I looked at that! If we take a reclining seat it will cost about 530 euro! Why don't we all do that. We could make a nice and cosy campfire around the seats.
If you want to, you could come a day or 2 earlier, get the ferry/Eurotunnel from Calais to Folkestone, and do a mini London rallye then drive up with the UK people. You'd save on the ferry for sure but obviosly spend more on petrol (it's 400 miles from me to Edinburgh). We could drive round all the London sites - Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Trafalger Square, Buckingham Palace - no need to worry about speeding (there will be traffic) - and then go out in London. Within reason people are welcome to stay at my place (oops, just offered that without consulting Zoe..I could be in trouble!). Just a thought if anyone fancies it.
Marc, thanks a lot thats a very kind offer from you - what a great gesture. But 400 miles / 640km more driving.....fuel...time..mhmmm. another solution: 17.5 hours devided by 3! Lets rent 1 cabine and use it by 3 peoples. Everybody could sleep, take a break, shower, relax for +5 hours! 2 x rent a seat 1 x rent a cabine BTW, there is a disco & bar on board Ton....down & up the list
It cost us £170ish this year, per car. Only takes an hour though which is the real plus. The ferry crossing is cheaper. To be honest I don't think this is a good option for you guys - more driving to Calais and more again from Calais to London then to Scotland, but if you want to then the option is available.
Another option is North Sea ferries to Hull from Zeebrugge. It is cheaper and we only have a 2 or 3 hour drive from there. The drive from Hull north is relatively easy. I'm up for sharing cabin space...we can slum it on the ferry then live like kings in Culloden.
Simon, Do you know anything about the costs on that ferry? I would also not mind to share my cabin with the captains daughter!
in my opinion it doesn't make too much sense to think about how to save on the ferry, what you can save there doesn't make it up for the expenses of just one cullodenish night for 2 persons. a little bit of good sleep will for sure be needed in order to arrive in a halfway reasonable condition in scotland. the discussion seems now to concentrate on how to save a bit of costs here and there for the rally, but my original intention was to focus the concentration and discussion on the philosophy, concept, objective, style, whatever, of the "European FerrariChat Rally" itself, this year and the following years. do we want to have FOC-style rallies or are we on the more creative, funky, groovy, sociable, wild, unpredictable, hands-on, easy-going, roots, party type of style, something like the funky ferrari owners. that's my question, first of all.
Funky? I think that the meetings should be great fun, fantastic drives, good social events afterwards and great enthusiasm. Nothing more!
with funky i mean the feeling, not the music style. i just tried to express in other words what you call great fun, social events and enthusiasm
