Sticky interior....and someone couldn't find the ignition! Looks as though someone also tried to take care of the sticky mess by wiping down the radio surround also (note the shiny finish). What a mess...

    This picture is so funny.

I expected to see some minor scratches near the key hole and was ready to tell you how that is normal...but nope! Seems like the Wolverine used to own this car.

That's got to be deliberate misuse. For what purpose, only God knows.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

Not imo Nuno, it is "just" sticky rubbish. Had that in my 512TR ....

Can be redone .. (should be redone) ...

I wonder when WE all get that too ... (hope not) ....

I am afraid he is just one of the first 458's ...

We see steering surrounds like that all the time. I also find it funny. I look when I put my keys in ignition. ;)

We rarely take before photos anymore as everyone knows what sticky parts look like, especially when they have them in their car ;)

That scratched up doesn’t make sense. Did you zoom in? And when you say you see them all the time - are you a auto shop or dealer or something.

Looks to me like it got sticky and someone tried to clean it off with an abrasive sponge. And careless key use. How many miles on the car?

Stickyness has nothing to do with miles imo :D

I think a combo of both. Careless key entry in a sticky column surround done over and over again. Easily fixable though.
