I have a 2006 F430, theres been scratches left by the previous owner. scratches on the door handles inside, switches and buttons in the interior. it seems like the paint on the rubber is pealing and easily damaged. Has anyone else encountered this? If so, did you have it fixed and how? ill post pictures later Thanks
No can't say I have any of those where you described but I do have some wear and tear on the side of the driver's side seat bolster leading edge which is getting fixed very soon.
Yes, I had the same thing in the same spots on my 360 when I bought it used. If one isn't careful, or maybe has long fingernails or something, that rubberized coating is surely scratchable. The only way to fix it is to either replace the part with a new one, or get Robbie at Stick no More to remove the coating. not stock, but a while lot less expensive and certainly more durable that the factory coating, which is also prone to liquefying and getting sticky down the road. I don't know of any company that can reapply the coating for you.
Hi Pap, I'm getting New Life Vinyl opposite me to recoat the bolster edge only. They did my work Mazda today and achieved a fantastic result.....you'd never know it was repaired. I can see why the 430 wears because it's nearly impossible to get into without ours bums getting caught on the protruding boltser. I now have learnt to enter side saddle and that makes all the difference in the world. PS. I've got a professional photographer friend lined up to take some photos so I'll get these on the forum as soon as we can organise it. Cheers, Rob.
thanks for all your help the link to robbies website is great, i will try to look for something here locally (taiwan) if not, i guess the website is my only shot thanks everyone
Sorry to hijack this thread, but I have a somewhat related question... I have (what look like) fingernail marks/nicks in the driver's door panel just above the door handle and arm rest. They were there when I bought the car...quite hard to believe considering it was very well kept otherwise and only had a thousand miles on it. Unfortunately, I didn't notice them when I looked at the car..the showroom lighting wasn't the best. Anyway, how well can these nicks/blemishes be repaired (it's black leather)? Will they be much less noticeable? Will the dye match well? Also, I assume a pro should really handle it, but can I fix them with the proper products? TIA
For the leather stuff: You might want to write or call these guys. They are very good and their stuff is easy to use http://www.leatherique.com/ferrari_leather_by_mike_cha.html
