Put in a steering wheel extender or extension from Hill. Makes a big difference. But I've noticed lately that the screws become loose after I drive the car a few times. First one and now two of the screws don't appear to be long enough, and can be pulled out when flush mounted. Anyone have this problem. Think I got longer screws with the extender.
is there room for a longer screw?
    anyone else have this problem?

    Hey Richard,

Definately want the same depth engaging the hub as before.......you didn't use the longer ones that came with the part?

IIRC the OEM ones are also in with blue Loctite to help with loosening......

Use 242 loctite or loctite 609 retaining compound

yep used the new ones that came from hill with the part; the others were too short.

not sure I know what "loctite" is; a gluing compound. I didn't use any when I installed the extension; just tightened the screws. now they don't stay tight.
probably from the vibrations from driving over the bad roads in houston

don't think it's related, but the whole steering column seems alittle loose; not much, but it's got some shake. where's the place to tighten it down?

I have a parts diagram.....it clamps to some supports at the dash...

Loctite is a thread locking compound...fatbillybob gave some numbers there...I've always refered to it as 'red' or 'blue'.....

That's where your trouble is...the factory used blue on the original ones that's why sometimes they'll round off the allen head instead of coming out!

Stop by any Parts Store and check out those part numbers and see which one's blue....don't go crazy with it...run a bead 3/8" to 1/2" inch up from the end of the bolt, on one side.. and put them back in...

It'll stay tight then I'd wager......send a PM later and we'll get together over the parts book on the column issue!
