A couple of questions for those of you who have some track time with your Scuds. Have you changed out the CC rotors for steel ones or are you staying with the ceramics? I understand the replacement cost for the ceramics is ~ $18,000 for a set of 4 rotors, and the wear time can vary anywhere from 2-8 track days, depending on driving/braking style, track conditions etc. I also understand that Brembo has a replacement brake kit for the Scud which incorporates steel rotors, new calipers etc for ~ $12,000. The replacement cost for the Brembo rotors is significantly less than the ceramics. If you have replaced the ceramics with steel rotors, have you noticed any change in braking performance? I would think Brembo's kit would add some weight to the Scud, but this may be an acceptable trade off for the cost benefit of rotor replacement. A number of Porsche GT3 RS and GT2 owners have replaced their ceramic rotors with steel ones and have found little if any decrease in braking capability.
I would doubt Ferrari would honor a warranty claim for new ceramic rotors on a Scud, but it would be interesting to know if anyone has tried this.
    Thanks.

Scud discs hold for a LONG time. I spoke to a guy that had like 8k miles on track and he changed pads once. Discs looked perfect still.

No way you have to change after 2 days, unless you drive for 48h straight...

From multiple reliable sources I can confirm that the Scuderia rotors last way longer than 8 track days. Based on F430C rotors life (CCB), I bet to say 40+ track days, using the typical 90 minutes track day

The same care I used to have with the Porsche CCB should apply here. Stay away from the ABS, cool down the brakes at the end of the session, don't run pads beyond 50% material left.

The new track pads used by the F430 Challenge (the compound changed to a softer compound) are made by Brembo but the pad itself is from Pagid. The rear pads are stamped RS19, which coincidentally matches the compound I was running with PCCB in my 2004 GT3 (pagid yellow rs19). I just got a set of these pads, as I refuse to use the street pads on a track day.

Stock pads are good for 2-3 track days, beyond that you risk your CCB rotors. I think it is a waste of $$$ at $4k per set of street brake pads.

Flush the stock brake fluid with Castrol SRF.

There are multiple kits available from Brembo for the F430, both in the GT series and GTR series. The Brembo GTR kit is as light as the stock CCB system. If you go down to 380mm front rotors, you can run 18" custom wheels and that opens a lot of options for track tires, with the 398mm stock rotors you're stuck with 19" wheels. Brembo GTR is what Ferrari installs in the LeMans race cars, much better system than the stock brakes.

No idea on how the cumulative electronic CCB wear rate works. I have been told it uses an algorithm that reads the wheel speed sensors, abs sensors, accelerometers. I don't buy this explanation. With speed sensors, time and ABS sensors you should be able to determine the wear rate.

regular 430 CCB and F430 Challenge CCB rotors are an option as well, they require a different front caliper for the Scuderia. The Challenge rotors are cheaper, and they should provide more rear brake bias, which I think the Scuderia needs.

Last week I changed my scuderia four ccb rotors with 12.000 km. Most of them km have been driven in trackdays.

Is there a good pad to use for track only days on a stock Scuderia and where can you buy these?
