Had a friend send me a bunch of pics of a Scud he's looking at, and he was asking me if the leaking on the rail (near the black cap and up higher) is normal. Appears on both sides of the engine. I have no idea. Any input on this I can pass on?

I would remove the caps and apply a drop of water while the engine is running to see if there is a leak or if this was just cosmetic

Several of the Scuds I looked at had those stains on the fuel rails....it appears to be residue from the welding of the valve stem fittings. Normal but sloppiness you would not expect from a high end car.

Just checked on my Scud, and I have no such leakage, I'm in the UK and mine's a 2009 car with 11K miles on it, if this helps?

Here again its not a leak problem but a welding issue. They also appear on the weld joint of the fuel inlet pipe.... Maybe by 09 the procedure was ameliorated....On mine I used 3M Glaze compound and buffed it out. I also pressured tested to confirm and was told it was caused by welding.
