Hey all I just got back my Scud from a service at the local Ferrari dealer (who haven't got a great rep)... Thought I'd have a look around the engine bay and noticed that a piece of heat shield was now missing and was sitting on the undertray in the bottom of the engine bay .... In the pictures below with my hand in it you can see the heat shield that is still in place, left hand side, under the airbox; the right hand side one has come away - the bolts have just sheared off the bracket that holds them. Query is how critical is this shield, can I drive the car while I wait to get it booked in to fix it - normal driving, no ragging it? Keep your eyes open.Take the car to another dealer on a non official competent garage. There are soooo many cases here in Italy of sabotage, only to guarantee a car coming back soon in service for repairs....expecially from foreing owners.
The heat shield will protect the carbon fiber and the air box bottom .. the cats get very hot .. also there was a recall to add heat shields over the two pipes that go to mufflers to stop the carbon fiber on side of engine bay from turning white
OK thanks. I might bring it to someone local next week and see if they can get the bolts out that have sheared and we can have it back on then asap. I have the heat shields on the sides - I'd just taken them off to give them a scrub thanks again
