Any owners or experiences with a Scud with the full Novitec HP upgrade? The information I have found boosts horse's slightly over 700, came across one for sale.
If this is the car, i saw it last week end at Bentley Gold Coast. No idea it was a novited. Looked very classy in this color http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferrari-430-Scuderia-F430-Scuderia-Novitec-717hp-Sven-Asmus-630-699-0900-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQitemZ250677854603QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks#ht_19669wt_1161
Doug- The Novitec cars are usually very well done, but in the used car market, the mods are really worth nothing. No premium at all because five years from now, they may actually be worth less than stock, like a Koenig BB or TR. Taz Terry Phillips
I think is all depand on the new owner. the novitec Bi compressor will cost you around 80k plus installed. and they fly over the technician from germany to install the charger.
Affirmative Jastien- I have $7500 worth of Novitec wheels and tires on my car and they will bring no premium and probably less than the OEM wheels if I ever wanted to sell the car. There was a Novitec full body kit, wheels, engine, interior 360 for sale a while back, and it was worth and sold for less than a completely stock car. That is just the way it is with Ferraris. People value originality more than anything aftermarket except possibly an exhaust system. Later Ferrari wheels, maybe, aftermarket, nope. Taz Terry Phillips
I can confirm that this car has every bit of HP and possibly more. In regards to whether or not there is value or not with a modified vehicle it all depends on the buyer. If a client is a real tuning enthusiast than there is value. Will you recoup all of your original investment probably not. Is it a value add for someone that understands what it is? 100%. Although for someone that is not aware it probably does not matter one way or another. What I can say for sure is that this car will snap your neck and runs fantastic. Whomever the lucky new owner is will be in a true super car and maybe the fastest one in North America.
Yept - and I agree the color combination works for me too. I am on the fence with the Novitec, but it would be one hell of a good time.
About 600 cars have been supercharged by Novitec since 2003. Very few issues have been heard about. We did two cars last year here in the US and Novitec USA has done about 7 cars so far this year. This is only one or two Scuderias that are supercharged in the USA along with the Novitec USA company car. This is a very rare car and you can recoup some of your money at sale. One of our customer's F430 707hp Novitec just sold last month. The dealer asked for all the paperwork and invoices of the work done to justify the premium they were asking over a stock F430. I do not know what the car finally sold for though.
Doug- I would not worry about quality on a Novitec kit. Quality is excellent and there should be no mechanical problems. I just would not pay much, if any, premium for the kit on a used car. You will definitely be able to kick a ZR1's rear end with the car. Keeping rear tires on could be a problem if you use CST Off very much. Other than that, the kit should be pretty much bullet-proof. Taz Terry Phillips
I think all the compressor parts is install properly, that's why they always fly the technician over here to make sure the install go smoothly. I think if you purchase the car, you will have one super fast ride. I like the color too. I think the only upgrade on the car is only the charger, I dont think the suspension been change. looks like stock height to me. Good luck Jastien Weiss
Jastien- Looks like you are correct, pretty much stock except for the superchargers. Hard to call a Scud a sleeper, but it might be at a Ferrari meet. Just noticed the guy pumped out major bucks for the kit and then only put 1257 miles on it. That is a lot of money per mile, never mind the original purchase price. The car may come with the original parts, too. I would make sure I asked. Taz Terry Phillips
The two German techs that fly all over the world doing these cars don't fly out to make sure the installation goes correctly but install the kit themselves. Only these two techs install the superchargers. No one or company is allowed to install these kits. Due to the warranty that is supplied with this kit Novitec requires that there own guys install them.
Beautiful car! Seems like a lot of modded cars are crazy colors and body kits/wheels. Nice to see with just the power upgrades and nothing too over the top. (Now that Ive said that I feel a little strange making a scud sound "normal". I suppose you have to ask, "Compared to what?")
My fear would not be with the quality of the Novitec parts or installation of the kit, but the internal components of the engine. The motor was engineered to produce 510 horsepower and be reliable. Without beefed up internals I would have serious concerns about durability.
Mike- These cars are pretty understressed and the kit does not provide that much boost. Not much needed for a substantial increase in hp. Taz Terry Phillips
I say get it....I doubt that car has ever seen abuse. Lot of the cars are built with performance parts and honestly sit in the garage....its sad.
Same clutch setup as the Enzo, (well similar) there are two Enzo's with over 1,000 rwhp running around with stock gearboxes. There is also a Stradale, with an Enzo engine installed in it, that is running the stock 360 box. Current Ferrari F1 gearboxes are very heavy and very well designed. Doug, I have a friend whom has owned a number of Novitec prepared cars and he loves them. The internals are not stressed with the Novitec setups as they are running 6-9psi well under what STOCK F40s run. This by no means the cars trouble free, but the biggest issue you have with Novitec system is going through brake pads . I can look into the car if you want. PM me if you want a more in depth walk through.
