I never said that there were 30 scuds left in the U.S. I said that there were 30 scuds for sale on one car site on the internet. And those are just 09s. My point was actually just the opposite of what some interpreted. I was making the point that there are far more scuds and spiders available in 08 and 09 then there are plain jane coupes. I know this because I was shopping for a coupe for 6 months and all I found were scuds and spiders for sale in those two years.
This is very true if you are referring to 08 and 09 models. Almost all coupes in those years were Scuds and most of the rest of the production was spiders. You won't find many 08 coupes and I don't think any 09's at all.
Ack...I sold my 08 resale red coupe for 09 scud =P I think the 458 price will give Scud price a little bit pressure when they drop to $200k, is still too soon and people that love Scud may not like the 458 unless is a 458 scud. shouldn't be a big pressure. However low miles scud is getting less and less, but higher miles are popping up right now!
I found two release articles on the scud. The Scuderia will only be made for the 2008/09 years and only 1400 copies will be produced. Less than half of those to be brought to the U.S. Price is roughly $225,000 before 'Market Adjustment'. Called the Scuderia Spider 16M, the car was launched today as part of Ferraris celebrations for its 16th F1 Constructor's title. Ferrari is already boasting that the new Scuderia Spider is faster around the Fiorano circuit than any previous open-top Prancing Horse, and has also revealed that just 499 examples will be produced.
That may have been the plan or in a press release prior to production. My sources tell me around double where made. If you cannot find any official numbers or insiders willing to be quoted off the record, ask your local dealer or three how many Challenge Stradales they got and then how many Scuderias. Done that way and working your way backwards, you will all get to a rough estimate of 2,500 to 3,000.
When I was contemplating a CS, I was told it was a 3:1 ratio....so Tony's number looks close to that. And it makes sense how one is rapidly depreciating (as a % of MSRP) and the other isn't. The gap between moderately priced Scuds/CS is actually narrower than that of 430/360.
So what make you so right that they made 2500-3000 and everyone wrong of the 1400 only made, it people like you that like to to put the scuds. down , some people are so negative, i own a scud when i bought it new i had the words from ferrari that they only made 1300 to 1400 of them world wide you guy like cutting down the scud. go out and buy one
Your sources are very wrong in that amount of scuds. 2500 to 3000 the max build are 1400 in 08-09, i own one since new and my sources are very right
I was offered 180k wholesale by my dealer for my 09 rosso corsa 850 mile scud just over a month ago. I think the lower mile well optioned cars will still retail for over 200k.
I'm not negative at all. I love the Scuderia and am still looking to buy one. Haven't found one I want. It is NOT a price issue, but color, miles, options, etc.. You also need to calm down. The world isn't against you or your Scuderia.
MODS, Please merge this thread with this one ("SCUD Pricing Guide"): http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=334361&highlight=scuderia+pricing+guide&page=34 Thank you, DL
I agree. I heard the same about 3000 were produced. Ferrari is always doing this. The Scud is a good car just not a rare car. They made fewer CS's, so in the short term it will hold it's value better. At the same time the Scud is a better car. CS is a more raw experience but Raw with me gets old when you have a challenge car already.
Yep every White scud in the world are worth double and all the red ones are worth half of just 2 months ago.
