I think the gold is unique and the car looks cool because of it. So many Ferraris are the same colors. I get that Rosso is the way to go for resale, but I like to see other colors to keep things interesting. For example, one member here has a copper colored scud. Not something I'd ever order from the factory but...it works. Really cool to see something different.

Agree, you need to be different :)
I had gold wheels on my red SL55 last time and the car looks great and unique.

I agree with you Dave, it IS cool to see other color combinations. But alas, I am not a rich robber baron that can afford to be "different"....thus "resale red" (Rosso Corsa/Nero) for mine. ;)

I do too...in fact the rosso corsa with gold stripe and gold wheels was used prominently in many of the Ferrari SPA brochures during the launch and promotion of the car.

Yeah, I hear you. I'm kicking around the idea of buying a Testarossa, partly for fun but partly as an investment, and there's only one exterior color I'm considering. ;)

Gold wheels turns off at least half the prospectives. It cheapens the car like no other option and is very gaudy and not very sporty at all.

    See - that is what I meant! : )

For the benefit of Gary, who is trying to sell the car - if it had different color wheels (gray, silver, black) but still with the gold stripe...would that change your opinion? ...or do you also find the gold stripe "gaudy"?

I like the gold stripe but agree it appeals to a smaller pool of buyers. It is always interesting to me that the P-car community is gaga for unique colored cars (ie they can trade at a huge premium) whereas the F-car community is all about resale red.

The press renders were a grey stripe with gold wheels which looks pretty sweet as well.

I honestly don't think someone seriously chasing their dream $200+k Scud is going to let the color of the wheels break a deal. Personally, I think they look great in gold, but at a minimum cost you can have them powder coated to another stock color... I suspect that the seller may even be willing to give you an allowance, or outright do it for you, so that you can have the color wheels of your dreams. The stripe is not so easy to change, though...

I've seen the car a couple of weeks ago when it was parked outside the CNC location in OC. I own a 16M Rosso Scuderia with a black and gray stripe and my first thought when I walked past the car was that I'm glad mine is not gold...It is just not for me, but there are folks who love the gold stripe and gold wheels...remember you only need one buyer to like it and it is sold. Prancing horses for courses...

The gold wheels are very sexy, only the boring red color does not fit. ;)

Thanks! Can't wait to get it back. I know it's just boring resale red but, I like that. I also lack imagination. lol
