    Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooosh.....

My friend if you are judging a car simply by production numbers you're completely missing the point!

I'm not judging by production numbers but more importantly the performance compared to the 430 Scud and 458 Speciale because I got a chance to drive them both. The real fact is that 430 Scud is the "middle child of the limited series N/A V8 light weight Ferrari's."

Did you find the Speciale to be significantly more refined and less raw in terms of driving experience compared to the Scud?

Whats the source of your knowledge?

I'd be surprised if the speciale was produced in less numbers considering ferrari's market has increased significantly in the past 10 years. Keep in mind these were not limited production cars and the scuderia was launched during a recession.

Having driven both, yes the speciale is more refined and digital feeling. And IMO, not all that different on the street from a regular 458 which can be had for $160k. The CS is the rawest of the three, but if you can't own them all, then the "middle child" gives you a taste of both worlds.

The UK numbers I have seen posted on this site showed much higher numbers for the Speciale than the Scud. Obviously the UK is only a small percentage of total production, but for other more recent models it has been one of the only sources out there to extrapolate production numbers.

I bet someone said that about Henri Oreiller‘s 250 GTO. Not that a Scud is really comparable to a 250...

Not the last 12 months....but nothing convinces you otherwise....basically a broken record....;) I checked and over 50% of your posts are about how Scuds are either going up, or the best investment ever. lol

Scuds have gone down in price over the last year. Cars aren’t great investments in my opinion

Looks like collectable cars have been the number two investment over the last decade in the S&L luxury index. That does no mean they will be a good investment going forward but over the last decade they seem to have done more than just ok and probably better than most investments you or I hold in our portfolio if I were to guess... Of course nobody knows for sure what the next good investment is...

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/investing/news/classic-cars-top-alternative-investment-asset-classes-192pc/

"While classic cars have been one of the best asset class over the past 10 years - beating art, wine, watches and the S&L Global Luxury Index - jewellery pips it to the post to rank as the strongest alternative investment, growing in value by 235pc over the past decade. This was driven largely by increases in the value of gold, which hit an all-time high in September 2011."

Like any investment, it depends where you bought. I suspect if you purchased last year, a scud has not been a very good investment for you. While prices of collectible cars shot up over the last several years, prices have deflated for most over the past year, as noted in the article.

I'll also mention that buying a Ferrari to use and buying a Ferrari as an investment are in direct conflict with each other as increasing mileage equates to decreasing value. Less so for '50s and '60s cars, but definitely the case for more recent ones.

F360s are out moded low torque cars, F430 has the first of a high torque new engine series, F430 Scuderia has the superfast2 gear box, 458 has even better engine but a ****ty PDK autochange gearbox. 488 is turbo BS, so the pick of the bunch is the F430/Scuderia
