Hi, my scud with tubi exhaust has loud vibrating/rattling noise from rear right at highspeed, does anyone know what could be the reason? Thanks.
Um....It's a stripped out street car that is by all means loud in every aspect. Duplicate noise caused by vibration in neutral by slowly climbing the rpm band by a couple hundred and holding for a moment. This will aid in pinpointing the sweet spot for the vibration. Most likely it is (as mentioned before by Rick) an exhaust bracket. Unfortunately (unless you have some very dedicated friends) no one will climb out of the car at "high speeds" to help.
Strange it is extra loud on hot days, at night/cooler weather, the vibration/rattling noise is not there. Perhaps the exhaust bracket, I'll check it out, thanks!
Is it this style of exhaust? Unusually for a scud exhaust, the Tubi has flared tips that then go into the rear visible tips that are fixed to the car through the bumper, this gives the Tubi less clearance than normal. Worth checking how much clearance you have when stationary. Image Unavailable, Please Login
