I want to save weight in the exhaust system. Specifically in the muffler and valve mechanism.
Primary target is saving weight and no power reduction.

I would like to keep OEM headers & CAT!

    Option 1:
remove OEM valve & muffler, replace by Challenge muffler only
Question: Does it fit to Scuderia & OEM CAT.?

    Option 2:
remove OEM valve & muffler, replace by X-pipe (https://www.fabspeed.com/ferrari430_29.html)
Question: E.g. Fabspeed promises more HP + torque. Any experiences concerning sound, power, CEL light?

    Option 3:
remove OEM valve & muffler, replace by streight out pipe after CAT.
Question: has X-pipe "muffler" any advantages compaired to streight out pipe?

Any other ideas, experiences, feedback highly welcome!

    Regards,

If your aim is to save weight, why not just swap the headers!

The reason I say this is because everyone knows that the factory headers are due for a crack any time soon and possibly even cause major damage to the engine it self.

Now, a good quality aftermarket header will save you around 6kg weight and at the same time give you up to 20bhp extra with noticeably more low down torque that the scuderia engine is lacking.

    Please research this option.

Perhaps you have a specific reason that you don't want headers.

Headers won't give you a CEL.

Cats will trigger a CEL, I have been down all avenues and learned the heard way.

Now I keep headers, modified ECU and sports boxes and air filters.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe the Scud suffers from the header problem the F430 has.

leave the cats, use an x-pipe as the cat back. The S-line one I have on saved 35lbs, sounds great, no CEL and less heat. We will know about power once Alwin gets his next week.
