It seems I am extremely unlucky with F1 transmissions. First the F430 and now the Scuderia. The car shifts from neutral to 1st, but as soon as the car attempts to move the gear returns to neutral and won't stay engaged. The dealership changed the transmission control unit as well as a pressure sensor, but the problem was not corrected. The Scuderia has only about 500 miles. I would appreciate any thoughts.
Wow, sorry to hear that Tarek! When the replaced the TCU and Pressure sensor, I'm assuming they checked all the clutch parameters and re-ran the PIS setup? Did they flush the F1 system and put in new fluid?
Some more information before this problem occured. I hadn't driven the car for about 6 months. I had left the car connected to the charger before I stored it, but something went wrong with the charger during that period and it stopped charging. When I tried to start the car initially, the battery was completely flat, so I jumped started the car from behind the driver's seat. When I ran the engine and tried to drive the car, it would go in 1st gear, attempt to move and then the gear would immediately return to neutral with an alarm sounding.
Tarek, Sorry brother you're having such bad luch with the F1 Tranny's. Hopefully they can fix it and you can start enjoying the car.
Tarek, There are at lest two additional potential reasons to this problem: 1) the F1 electro-hydraulic pump is overheating (electric motor is at fault); 2) feed-back pressure sensor of the main hydraulic accumulator-distributor / power unit. Check those two (despite that those rarely compe up in diagnostic codes, unless totally non-functioning). Cheers.
Todays' cars full of electronic gearboxes, traction control, stability management, etc and millions of operations controlled by computers and software means most cars have modules that learn from how a driver operates their cars over an induction period of use. Whenever the battery gets discharged , those modules and learned programs are lost when the memory gets cleared. The dealer will have to be used to reset service reminder messages and check engine lights when error codes are thrown. Unfortunately, your F1 gearbox must have the same adaptive programs that must be reset before it runs properly again. I hope your dealership has the proper trained technicians that can sort out these electronic problems. Wishing you Good luck.
tarek, sorry to hear you're now having problems with the scud too. especially that you are only at 500 kms. if i were you, i would insist on having the whole assembly exchanged just like on the 430. having the car stored or the battery running out should not be the culprit as long as you are using a fresh battery or charged the flat one. usually a couple of restarts later all works fine.
If the car has been sitting for 6 months, could it just be a sticking solenoid in the F1 system? Hopefully they will sort it out for you asap. If you havent got the time to drive you Fcars Tarek, let me know mate because I will fly over there and drive them for you. Cheers mate and take care.
Thank you gentlemen.........I'll keep you posted. PAP, you're most welcome anytime ..........you have an open invitation.
My Scuderia is receiving the following new parts: - New F1 electronic control unit, original was faulty. - New pressure switch, original was faulty. - New clutch, original had faulty springs. - New F1 kit which includes F1 pump and actuator. The dealership also suspect sticky valves in the original unit. The new parts should be fitted next week.
