I hope he doesn't, much more important for Charles to keep winning, cause he will be the one fighting for the title with Max, not Carlos.

We need Carlos to get in the game. Particularly on weekends where Ferrari have a pace advantage he needs to be taking points off Max V. It helps Ferrari for the CWC, Charles for the drivers and of course Carlos himself. He must improve.

Pretty shortsighted. He could be crucial to the title fight. Carlos really needs a confidence boost, he seems to be drowning at the moment.

What he needs it's a bit of luck, and focus on his work, instead of trying to beat Charles at all cost. He's a very good driver, but he's just slower then Leclerc. I know that's hard for him to admit, but that's the truth. He most focus on himself and results will improve, look how well Checo is doing, he knows he's slower than max, but that doesn't seem to bother him.

Not sure if you're saying it's Carlos Jr or Perez who are not title contenders.

While I agree that Max is better than Perez, that's because Max, along with Hamilton, Fred, Prost, and I hate to admit it but Senna and Schumacher, are those rare rare talents that are just head and shoulders above the rest. I'm not sure where Chuck and Carlos will come out in the end, but I think Carlos is much closer to Chuck than people give him credit for. I think he was far closer to Max at Toro Rosso than the results show. He had some ****ty luck, and let's face it, the team was 110% behind the golden child, and no one else a chance against the management bias.

The question you should ask yourself is:
Do you think a team is stupid enough to disadvantage a driver capable of fighting for the title?
    No
They are fully aware of their drivers skills..
Red Bull and Ferrari perfectly knows that Perez and Sainz are inferior to their teammates.
    There’s no conspiracy here.

I wasn't trying to imply a conspiracy. Certainly I agree a team should focus on the driver with the best chance. Sainz has had a horrible year to date, so it makes sense for the team to concentrate on LeClerc, but I don't think that's his true pace. Sainz finished ahead of Charles last year, and I can honestly see him beating him again, possibly too a WDC, but not this year. Perez on the other hand, I don't think could finish ahead of Max in the same car no matter what.

Sainz is a fine driver, but I think it's safe to say in a title fight, Leclerc is the driver you want to put your money on, as Verstappen is, if you're a Red Bull guy. That said, we need Sainz competing for podiums and stealing points from rivals. I believe he is the guy for the job and his season has been one giant punch in the guy with the exception of the first race. I hope he has a great weekend in Miami and I look forward to seeing him win his first race in red.

It's a bit early to determine who has the best chance after only 4 races, IMO.

If Ferrari does it too early, it may have a demoralising effect on Sainz.

Sainz only finished ahead of Leclerc because his car was unfixable in Monaco. That's not even including every time his position got crucified by the safety car.

If mid season he´s behind, then better luck next year, but I think that at least Sainz deserves a chance.

Can we please stop with that narrative? Sainz didn't beat anyone, he simply had 2 extra races to score points, races where Charles was ahead of him before being taken out on one, and being unable to star on the other. On those 2 ocasions he would most probably have won both, wich would give him 50 points and would reduce sainz tally even further. To add to that, Sainz benefited from a safety car at Imola while Charles lost a 2º place to 4º, together with a lotery at the end when He lost a lt of points because ferrari decided to keep him on a wet track and pited carlos to maximise the chance of a podium..Carlos got lucky. Under normal circunstances, without exterior interference, Charles would have easily finished 60 or more points in front of sainz. He confortably beat him on race day and qualifying in most races.

I don't know if anyone observed, but from the video shared by @maha in post #767, the Ferrari looked pretty good along the straights and the corners. Was it the camera angle playing on me or the new floor was indeed making the car stable and agile through the corners, only time will tell.

I think the bulge + skates (near the edge of the floor on either side) were to help w the porpoising? RB has skates too (see red arrows pointing left & right), and I'm sure more teams are going to copy this...

Interesting analysis. Hopefully the higher engine mode this weekend will add to this.
