Rumors from 2021 car were alarmists and true.

Ferrari had a great car to start 2022, why would it be surprising that they have one for 2023 too

I'm not sure why this forum seems to have difficulty remembering the times we have seen Leclerc more than hold his own and race wheel-to-wheel with Verstappen, who has been superior to Hamilton for some time now, and he has shown that he can win against the best in a marginally better car.

According to you, Leclerc hasn't stepped up to the mark, but please tell me, who would win a championship in any of the cars he has driven? I would argue no one.

Some can't help being over enthusiast about rumours, only to see their hopes deflated later on.

A typical case of counting your chickens before they hatch.

The realistic approach is to see how things unroll during the season rather than entertaining foolish expectations.

1 second per lap faster?!?!?!? I think you're just jealous because Ferrari is going to now be winning races by 50-60 seconds....

I am not jealous in any way. If they win, fine.

I will have no problem with it, but in Ferrari's case, winning is the exception. .

It could be true: getting big gains with new rules is expectable. The problem is how much have gained the others.

The quote was that his car as 1 second per lap faster--
the other teams are working hard to make their cars even faster than 1 second per lap--

So, nobody knows what the score looks like until the second pre-race track event.

If Ferrari have put their reliability issues behind them and can run the engines at full power then lap times should improve. However that is a big IF.

and Ferrari showed in the sim that their car was going to be a winner, and it was. But they didn't have reliability (and pit wall) issues programmed into the sim;)

I still think if Ferrari can fix the low hanging fruit like pit wall and reliability they will be in the hunt. Even without anything crazy. Everyone's going to improve. Ferrari has probably more talent then most to move it forward. They are just their own worst enemy. IF the power plant can live then its a REALLY good race. As a wrench turner, its ALWAYS easier to make a powerful engine live, than a reliable engine powerful.

But no news on what Vasseur is doing? Some announcements on reserve drivers, some puff pieces are CL feeling more "mature" after his losing season...all blah blah blah. But is Vasseur actually doing anything more than baby sitting Binotto's failure?

He’s been busy redesigning the whole car and engine. When he’s done (by next week), expect to see LEC lap Sainz once and the rest of the field twice!

According to some Italians insiders Vasseur isn’t doing any kind of brutal revolution.
For now he’s learning how the different departments are working together.
    Like Todt in 1993.

All the ******** stops on Sunday in Bahrain.

It's been 15 years of pre-season testing hype. Roughly half that as winter testing champions. 15 years of failure.

Forgive me for not buying the hype from the same italian media that does the same thing every year, then after a couple of races are ready to burn the whole team at the stake.

Even if it's true, Ferrari should denounce what has been said. It's like watching a boxer telling the world he's going to knock his opponent out for weeks, to anyone that'll listen...only for him to lie face down 10 seconds into the first round. And then do it again for the next fight. And the next one. And the one after that.

Eventually people stop believing the hype.

Ferrari, learn to be the underdog...

Let us hope for zero 'correlation' issues between chassis and PU. The track is the arbiter of course!

Claiming enormous progress during the winter months and having a really fast car for the coming season is just part of Ferrari folklore. Accept (but do not believe) it!
