Oh yes. 7 months till the lights go green. That's a tight schedule! Since VIP tickets are 500E a pop I won't be buying until it's 100% sure if the Competizione will be racing or not. Otherwise I'd spend the money on F1. Once again, good luck!
Even if you don't compete in the race with the car yourself, surely you'll still have a test drive of it to see what it's like? I wouldn't be able to resist if I was in your shoes! All the best, Andrew.
Jim: If you are going to race it, and hire a team, give me a call. I've got a good inventory of team releases (which are better than those used by K&K which is the industry standard) and driver contracts. Several teams are using them, and I'd be glad to donate them for the cause. Art
Doesn't not selling 'Ferrari P 4/5 Competizione' limit success both performance wise and also financially? Multi car teams seem to have an advantage in that more development work can be completed at the same time. Also team mates can push each other when there is a standard to be compared. With a single car it is difficult to know if you are achieving it's full potential or not. ONE is a lonely number. Two would certainly increase your odds for success. Good luck with your plan! CH
This venture isn't to make money. It's simply to enjoy ourselves and get some good exposure for a Sponsor who'd like to ride along. If you search Ferrari P 4/5 on the web you'll notice that this car has taken on a life of its own and hopefully a Sponsor will understand the potential of P 4/5 Competizione. We may even deceide to press on by our selves. The Adventure has begun and for me the road is often more interesting than the destination.
Jim, Now that its become a business (of sorts) will you be pursuing more vigorous action against those who have been making unauthorized commercial use of the car?
Put me on the list, to roll tires around and chase after missing wrenches. Missing wenches too, for that matter!
I'll just be the annoying guy who hashes the German for all the take-out orders... "Jon? Mit das P4/5?" _J
Bravo Jim! I just saw this, and, regardless of how it turns out, I'd like to thank you for returning Ferrari to sports car racing. From the little I know about racing at this level, you have many, many challenges ahead of you. The days of driving to the track and racing have been long gone for at least a generation. The level of sophistication and professionalism needed just to qualify is unbelievable. (It is my understanding that some teams retain a meteorologist who uses satellite data to forecast rain on a turn by turn basis.) But I have full faith and confidence that, if anybody can do this, you can. Rest assured, we will all be tuned to the TV to cheer you on. Dale PS Have you thought about approaching Rob for a sponsorship?
Jim, curious to know if you've talked to Mr. Bryan... Rik may know a bit about these matters. It would be interesting to know how far a collaboration could go... _J
I'm sure you've already thought about this, but how about one of the model car companies sponsors you in exchange for rights to make P4/5 and/or P4/5 Competizione models? I don't collect model cars but I'd buy one!
Is it me, or was that entire article written purely from eavesdropping on this thread? Or do you own that site nthfinity? All the best, Andrew.
