My first Ferrari arrived yesterday. 2009 Bianca Avus Scuderia. Just a tremendous car... After inspection, I noticed that one of the "Ferrari" logos on the top of the air intake is missing. Looks like it was basically glued on, and came loose. I can't seem to locate a replacement part anywhere. Can you point me to the right direction? Todd
Item 21 here and there appears to be only one. Alan Ferrari 430 Scuderia Parts : Table 16 - AIR INTAKE MANIFOLD COVER
Congrats and welcome! Pics please. Did you try Ricambi? Is it number 21 pictured? Ferrari 430 Scuderia Parts : Table 16 - AIR INTAKE MANIFOLD COVER
Try looking carefully down and around the motor. They will commonly fall off and end up in the center of the motor recess, midline, towards the rear of the engine. If it's not there, then take off the lower body skirt. It is likely in there since the underside of the car is almost completely sealed off. You will find it unless someone else removed it or didn't reinstall it after it fell off. Otherwise, they are almost impossible to source a new one. Careful selection of adhesive to put it back on is important. I tried multiple things and they all failed except one: dark gray colored JB Weld. It can hold up against the heat and vibration and the color is a nice blend in case you get a bit too much during the install and it pushes out around the lettering.
Thanks guys. It is not the item pictured, but rather one of the two "ferrari" scripts on top of the plenum. I will search again around the engine bay tonight. And call ricambi. Any other sources?
Lost one of those as well. My mechanic were able to get a hold of a new one by calling the factory in italy. It didn't have a regular part number apparently..
I had noticed that mine was coming loose one day while I was cleaning the engine bay. I put it back with epoxy glue. Still there since then.
Seems like these are unobtainium. Great. I called Ricambi, no luck. Scoured ebay. Nothing. It seems like a unique size emblem, too. It is not as long as rear bumper versions. At this point, I'd take a reproduction, but no idea where to get one or have it made.
Sorry, did I miss where you had a dealer work this issue back to FNA and the factory? If not, I highly recommend...I had to have that done for a bit for the CS and they ultimately found it...
I can't believe it's not sitting on the under tray as that is sealed off pretty good. Did you not look there? Alan
Seems a lot of things have gone missing recently and the search is difficult. I'll bet it has fallen down inside the motor or underbelly somewhere.
Same thing happened to me, found mine in the in the belly pan. Had it re-chromed and installed. Ferrari of Houston had a replacement, not cheap, I checked before I dropped the pan to look. Talk to Nolan if you call.
I haven't measured it but the ones on the plenum look to be the same as the one on the rear deck but with the guide pins machined off.
The intake emblem is not the same size as the one on the rear deck lid. Also, it would never stay for long on the intake without the pins to stabilize the adhesive. I tried all options, including measuring the emblem and then measuring other Ferrari model's emblems to see if Ricambi could find something to fit. It was a dead end. I spent countless hours of time trying to figure this out and it was a bust. Anyone that has had a different experience, I encourage them to provide their exact source and a part number. You either have to find it in the belly pan or motor area, find a used one at a dealer or supplier, have some kind of connection with the Mother Ship, or buy a new $18,000 intake. To make matters worse, the emblems are not the same on all the CF intakes and there is a left and a right as the pins are not symmetrical. My Scud 16M is different than my F430C. It is rare to see a F430C with both emblems in place.
I know this is an older thread, but mine fell off the other day. Lucky for me I found mine in the engine bay after some searching with a flash light. For those that have not been as lucky I contacted Ferrari of Seattle who checked in for me and told me that they can source them for anyone who needs them from Ferrari. They go for $248+tax it seems. By Ferrari standards that is reasonable. Edit/Delete Message Reply With Quote Multi-Quote This Message Quick reply to this message
