I am trying to get opinions on if the Scud prices continue to fall at what point will they stop, or cause the CS prices to lower. Currently the CS and A 08 Scud are 20,000 apart. I know the CS is a great special car, but it is a 04, and on paper is no match for the Scud. Neither is a regular car and both will always command a higher price than a standard car of the same year. I just cant see the CS ever being worth more than a Scud. I am considering purchase of a Scud and just don't understand why they are so close in price. Given a regular 360 to CS is $60,000 premium, CS to 08 Scud $20,000 premium, and Scud to 458 $80,000 premium. The numbers just don't add up.

CS pricing is around 160k for a pristine factory stripe rosso scuderia example ('04)
Where are you finding 140k CS 's with low miles and a stripe?????

Scud pricing is is around 180 k for a pristine rosso scuderia model ('08)

The 20,000 dollar price difference is correct with both having identical miles 8,000 +\-

I know, I have been HARD shopping both.

The OP is correct and I have the same questions as he does......

Based upon my look a CS with mileage around 10,000 miles and a stripe, is a 150,000 dollar car. A 08 Scud with 8000 miles without the US Carbon package is a 170,000 dollar car.

Got it. With the low inventory and rarity of cs , the car is worth whatever you are willing to pay. My guess is scud price has hit a bottom. I have been watching scud market for a while and it seems low miles is hovering 180 to 190 k. High miles 170 k.

Amazes me that a 10 k mile cs has gone up to 150 k , wonder what they actually sell for.

I love how when these threads pop up, everyone and their personal agendas cherry picks the most extreme values that best serves their agenda hahahaahaha.

    Bottom line is:
    • RED or WHITE, 2009, Stripe, non-storied, 5-10k mile Scuds have been SELLING, not asking, for 180-200k.

    • For silvers, blacks or other non-reds and/or all other market-considered "oddities" e.g. no stripe sell for 10-20k less depending on the magnitude of the "oddity".

    • For 08s, tack another 5-10k discount.

    • There's a 429K Scud, which is not the norm. Should I factor that into all this? lmao

    As for the CS market:
    • Asking price has consistently been inflated 15-20k more than actual sale price (my data based off my local california area, so may not apply elsewhere, but i doubt it would be much diff)

    • RED, Stripe, non-storied, 5-10k miles CS' in my area have been selling for 130-160k

    • A black one was recently brought over to the bay from Seattle and was purchased for 149k, was asking, yep you guessed it, over 160k

    • I've read claims by certain buyers of paying over $200k. Bullsh!et, dealership verified sale, far less. Not all are bs of course, I am sure there were some picked up in the 200 range but again, like the 429K Scud, I do not believe it to be the norm.

+1. (he knows better than any of us re scuds, less so about CS) I would add that scud prices "by and large" are not falling of late.

OP - somethings are just hard to understand :) Do a search, this intensely boring topic comes up seemingly every week. Re the cars, they are both great. Talking about the market sucks...driving them is great.

Not representative of the market from what I know. To be clear, I WILL BUY CS's MEETING THAT DESCRIPTION AT $130k. I will even pay anyone that brings me one $10k finders fee. I will take 5 at that price please.

Yet another CS vs Scud thread. Guess this will go on for few more years till each will have its own place as a bonafide classic.

sorry, 5-10k miles as you said. Gotta have the factory stripe too :)

sub 10k mile, factory stripe, red, "no stories" CS have sold in past year for more than your range, in a couple of cases 25% above the top of your range (as you noted). If someone unloaded one for below $150k, they got less than they could have and less than other transactions over past year or so. Btw, I turned down $145k for my car and it has 18k miles.

So, I don't know why you would post a data point that illustrates your bias and agenda in a thread where you were trying to accuse others of doing so. As my somewhat tongue-in-cheek response attempted to say, I don't believe a would be owner can buy the car you described for 130-160 range, in fact I say that range is misleading. I do agree with one at $150k+, but then that sounds very different and doesn't fit your agenda.

Look, we know each other and I like you and love your car and enthusiasm for this topic. But you are guilty of anti-CS bias (at least vs a scud) in your many posts on the topic over the years. You put your wallet where you writing is, so much respect for that! Just a touch ironic, that's all.

    hahaha, hey i don't have anti-cs bias, i have anti-cs-bullsh!et bias =D

Only reason I'm keeping tabs on CS pricing still, is I am certain I am not getting a Specialé (too poor and find the car ugly). So, a CS + Scuderia stable is back in the cards and so I serve both agendas (at least in terms of pricing)!!!

14k miles isnt that far off from 10k miles c'mon you don't want it? It's factory stripe! 10k buys me an early x'mas gift!!! Help a poor brother out.

If that thing sells for 400k, I'm putting my Schumacher autographed airboxes back into the car and selling mine for 500k.

because Schumi > factory workers =D

That sucks about the 458 Speciale, you are the type of owner/driver that SHOULD end up with one of those...maybe in the used market?

I recall your comment a few years back about a track only car and maybe using the CS for that...why not a scud for that? [I tend towards the belief that the scud will hold up to it more, mostly the F1...but what do I know...I know F430GT used to say that, but then he had lots of gearbox issues and partially changed his tune...he said something I now take to heart - he called the F1 a "wear item" and suggested to us all that replacement/refurbishment was in the cards for that part with enough usage.]

I was reminded of something I wrote to you a while back (by our resident dead-thread resurectur finitele) when I did the math and one could get a scud, a CS and 996 GT3 (for track) for the likely price of a 458 Speciale. I think the math isn't working that way now, but it ain't far off!

Used or new, ugly is still ugly. i'm too vain to be caught driving a dustbuster around town =D jmho! The specialé drives butter-smooth though I have to say...some really brilliant fancypants engineering in that one but not any more exciting or fun than the scud, so as a poor and vain man, i just can't swing one. again jmho =D

    I like the cs + scud + p-car idea!

150k for a 14k mile CS, not quite what Arizonaitalian asked for ;)

I think Scud prices will slowly go up from now, CS will follow.
CS might be worth more then a Scud in the long run, but that wil take a few more years! ;) (the reason why has been discussed a million times in previous threads! :D ;) )
So to the OP: if you want a Scud, get one now!

Since this thread's original topic adds little and has been beaten to death, let's continue off path :)

Are you giving thought to a 991 GT3? or upcoming RS?
