Apparently a few dealers have begun to receive allocation for March builds. Base price for the Scuderia is $262,306K. The stripe is $8094.

And what is with premiums for early cars in the US. Even in Europe early Scuderias are featuring EUR 75.000,00 netto premium. Premiums for 430 Scuderia are even at higher level than premiums for 599 GTB in Europe back in 2006 right after its launch. Any thoughts? Best.

I think I would take a pass on the stripes, especially at $8k.

This is going to be difficult to answer. As of today, buyers in the USA may not be able to own the car outright. We may be forced to lease or finance the car for one year. This stops the people trying to flip the car (at least for one year). Before all this lease/finance fiasco, speculation on the resale marker would be in the $100K-$150K over MSRP.

I have to wonder about timing. As 430 and seemingly 599 inventories begin to rise, and without belaboring the woes of the economy (very well addressed on another thread here), maybe the "leasing program" will save some people from themselves. At first, I thought "not ok", but now, I am not sure any car will be worth what we have seen recently, a year from now. I hope I am wrong and yes there are always a few with enoughy money to buy, but I am looking at the larger picture and it does not look promising. Best

I agree with you 100%. The 430 Scud will easily reach $300K if you are not careful with the options. My dealer has 22 people on the "interested list". That was before anyone knew the base price. My dealer thinks people will be dropping off his list.

If you own a 360 or 430 Ferrari you may be a rare individual. I seldom hear or see (on this forum or anywhere) hesitation to spend spend spend , when it comes to a Ferrari. Floor mats, Cercamic Brakes, Carbon Fiber, etc. Why worry about "stripes".

Could not resist the (hopefully) humor. I also agree with you. Maybe someone could enlighten me how Ferrari can justify a cost of $8,000 for a couple of stripes? I put vinyl stripes on my race cars that cost pennies. They last and can be changed easily.Best

Assuming the car can be "bought" versus leased - I would imagine that we're going to see prices (w/premium) circulating in the $400,000 to $450,000 range. Carrera GT territory. Kind of makes you hesitate for a moment (at least in my case) ... :)

You'd think with an F40, 430 and CS you would be able to get one at MSRP.

One would think so, however, I could have another dozen Ferraris and still not be "eligible" in the eyes of my dealer. It's a political game that I'm not willing to play. I have personally seen the way dealers have treated friends who HAVE played the game and are still viewed as second rate citizens. I'm willing to wait and do things my way rather than kiss a** to a dealer to get a car.

I agree with you. I think $8K for a paint stripe is obscene. So was the $4K for the vinyl stripe, covered with clear coat, on the CS. I put an aftermarket stripe on my CS and would do the same were I to get a Scuderia. After all, it's just a superficial embellishment, it has nothing to do with the car's performance, and, if permanent, slots you into the boy-racer category for as long as you own the car.

262? Wow, expect to see the 430 replacement in this neighborhood. Could be the end of the line, for me anyway. Oh well, lots of other fun stuff out there.

I think if the base price for Ferrari's "entry level" model goes to 1/4 mil, the "list" will get shorter!

Well the 430 replacement will be starting in the $270k range. The new entry level California GT is around the $200K range.

That's unfortunate. I guess all dealers do things differently. I have nothing but good things to say about our local dealer.
