Went to see Dave Helm's new place in Erie, CO today--officially moved from Boulder. Still a work in process, but awesome space and potential for all sorts of uses in addition to servicing our FCars. Lifts in place and working on cars as I post. Dave is very happy with new space and potential. Couple of pics attached--sorry I am not a techie, so the attached pics come out sideways, but hope they give some perspective of the size of the new shop. Easy to get to from Denver, just up I-25 to Exit 229 and West to County Line then N on County Line a couple of miles--near cycling Hippodrome--to shop (use Mapquest if uncertain), about 25 minutes from my house near DU if I-25 traffic is not screwed up (but at least no Boulder turnpike now).

I love it! Look at that giant shop. All those people who think Dave and his ideas are crazy there is no better vindication than success. Heck we are thick with Ferraris in my town. Six Ferraris live on my street and my local Ferrari Dealer doesn't even have a shop that big. Congrats Scuderia Rampante!

Wow, that's great. A gigantic space compared to the old shop in Boulder. No need anymore to juggle cars around to be able to fit in new arrivals.

My bad--"cycling Hippodrome" should be "cycling Velodrome" in the directions; glad to see those of you giving Dave kudos on the new shop--it truly is a dream come true for him.

    Congratulations to the Helms family.

Isn't that Magpul's factory they moved out of?...

Happy to see Dave doing well. Will look forward to a visit the next time back in CO.

Just stopped in there today, what an amazing facility, I've never seen anthing quite like it. First time meeting Dave and he was kind enough to welcome me in, give me a tour and was generally just a true pleasure to speak with someone so knowledgable and passionate about cars. When he's all settled in and has finished setting up, having the ability to store cars ect, it will be world class all the way. Should feature his shop and story on the history channel or something.

Thank You All for the kind words! This has been all consuming for well better than a year and it vastly exceeds my wildest dreams in every way.... I have been busy while I was away.

Yes Robb, this was Magpul's manufacturing and distribution center that they were sadly forced to vacate due to ridiculous legislation in CO. Magpul's management and owner, as well as the building owner Wil J., went way out of their way to help us get in early so we could be set up and operating by Spring time, well prior to our closing on the purchase of the building.

What amazes all of us is the fact that at our Boulder facility we were operating in a space equal to the upstairs mezzanine of this building. Now in our Erie building, that same space houses the machine shop, parts and the restoration depts only. Now with the right Team in place, we are making good use of the space!

It will be a work in progress for some time to come. Evenings and weekends have been blocked out for the foreseeable future as this all comes together. What helps the most is friends who have helped with this move and setup effort assure me they see changes and progress happening weekly.

Fortunate in so many ways, I have Owned CL for the last year! Go to buy a high end electronics testing work bench that was advertised and end up buying the entire Product Testing Lab and all its equipment. Jason heads out to buy a Maple display table for our showroom, at an Edie Bauer store.... and ends up with the entire display inventory of the store! I am still unable to get myself to bolt a vise to a $2800 Walnut table, for use in the restoration area... one day....

Now back operating at full capacity... now the Fun stuff starts with the building of the Lounge. Take a wing from a Naval reconnaissance plane, flip it upside down and bolt it to the wall, prop up the outer end with a radial engine.... and call it a Bar (functioning ailerons so the bartender has the discretion to dump a beer in the lap of those who's lies have been heard before... danger Plugzit!). Take an F-86 working turbine, throw plate glass on it and call it a coffee table...... Surely over the top crazy but, its part of the dream that I must finish!
