Is this possible? I was interested in talking to MOMO about the possibility of this as they do custom racing wheel work.

Any thoughts? The difficulty seems to be in the manettino and start-button electronic aspect...

Funny, he had my attention for a while but at the dollar figure he proposed, I began to doubt Dr. Evil's mechanical know how, hence, it was not quite the answer I was looking for.

You can get the adapter parts in a few different styles from race car shops. but for the elctrical part you'll have to rig something. I suspect if you take it to your local Radio Shack or Electronics supply house they msy be able to hook you up. (or maybe that coiled phone cord you see in nascar)

Unfortunatly the quick removal adapters I have used in the past require welding something to the steering shaft. Not sure you'd want to do that to a Ferrari.

Now that I think about the formula one cars must have a zillion electronic connections...how do they do it?

OK, seriously, Jon. Why are you asking such a question?

I would not be surprised to find out that in todays day and age they do it wirelessly with RF.

Least likely due to interference (known/unknown/inflicted) and reliability. Wired is the way to go. =)

Okay, okay, wireless is awsome... Now on to the tech matter, who knows how to do it, with or without wires?

I would be afraid to touch it. Electronics are what make the 430S great

Thanks for the links. The first product is the one that interests me; I don't think I have seen a detachable mount with electric linkages before

I wonder how that would, or could, match with the Scud. The Scud's wheel is pretty crazy, I'm just curious if you could take all that techno-matter and make everything operate as it should... I'll be calling MOMO today.

Just a side note that I'm happy about hearing - Heffner tells me that they can pull over 1000 hp from a Ferrari's V8 with some TT happiness. ;)

I believe you could keep that technological brilliance intact with some sort of linkage... The whole question still remains - how?

    Thanks for the input guys!

    Best,
    Jon

I have no doubt that is is possible - F1 makes Scud wheel look primitive. But you need a technology that is available and reliable. Hence the post. I would be super nervous about messing with the Scud with the technology that is likely to be available to a mere mortal. When I think of Radio Shack I shudder....
