I got my scuderia in early 2017 and my car came with trofeo r’s and I figured they were just very old as the car does not have good road grip (I don’t know how hot these things need to get) and kind of slides around like it’s got hard plastic tires. I recently looked up the tires and they were only a couple years old, they were very new when I got them.

but all my cars I’ve had with pilot super sport (or 4s) or especially my personal favorite cup 2’s have excellent road trip at normal temperatures.

however the cup 2 doesn’t seem to come in 285/35/19

anyone got some solid advice on what to go with?

You can fit 295 on the rear no problem? And the front would you go 235 or can you go or would you suggest 245?

I know there are other threads on this but they were all 5+ years old

There was a recent thread that was packed with info— yes 295 fits fine. I wished I’d gone wider in same time personally.

245 on front no info— I haven’t tried that— a bit iffy.

Just keep in mind the overall circumferences relative to each other, and that changes to widths relative to front and rear will affect handling balance.

Trofeo Rs and Sport Cup 2s need heat in them to generate grip, so are not going to grip as well as 4S in normal driving. They also lose more grip based on heat cycles than the 4S. When fresh and hot, though, they generate tremendous grip.

I run SC2s in the summer on my daily driven 911. It was fun when they were new, and great on track days, but getting less so, as heat cycles are taking their toll. I am likely to switch back to a street tire like the 4S when these are done.

Good to know I always felt my cup 2’s were pretty good in normal conditions but sounds like 4s is way to go. Trofeo r have little grip cold

I recently put the 4s on mine and have been very happy. They do grip well.

I recently put 4s's on mine and absolutely love them. I had them on my old gt3 as well. I have cup 2's on my gt3 touring. They are sticky and great, but they pick up rocks and debris (nails too) like crazy, and they're noisy in comparison, and have a slightly rougher ride.

okay awesome! I am going to go with 4s then. Thanks guys, considered Re71r but michelin really does dominate imo. My m4 has had cup 2's super sports and 4s's and they are all awesome, cup2's did have much more grip but lasted about 1/4 the miles! Gt3rs obviously has the cup2's, I feel the grip is exceptional on those cup 2's as well even on street temperatures, these trofeo R's are like ice skates
