    Some of my notes:
    • 4-2-1 is believed to be better for mid range power
    • 4-1 is believed to be better for top end power
    • Some believe a 4-2-1 maximizes mid-range power by sacrificing top-end power
    • Some believe a 4-1 maximizes top-end power by sacrificing low-end power
    • Others believe a well-designed 4-2-1 maximizes mid-range power without losing top-end
    • Others believe a well-designed 4-1 doesn't lose any low-end
    • 458 uses 4-1
    • 599 GTO & xx cars use 6-1
    • F1 cars use 4-1

Here is a comparison picture I put together of some 4-2-1s vs 4-1s:

I wonder what's the best setup for:
    • Flow & F1 pitch
    • Reduced engine bay temps (lets not factor in heat shields)

Which one rocks your boat? Anyone test these two formats against each other before? Not sure why a lot of folks rave about the Capristo layout...imho the oem looks to be the better 4-2-1
