I have a very good offer for a very good looking 430 Scud. The car looks and sounds perfect, but it has 45 000 miles on it. It has 1 previous owner and a full service history. Obviously the mileage is high and also i can not see the history, because it is recorded in Ferrari and I do not have a Ferrari dealer in my country.

The price is really good , so I want the car, but the mileage is a little bit disturbing. Is it really such a big problem, assuming that a big part of it is probably done on the track? And also - is this model having any typical problems at all, everything particular to look for? I know about the exhaust manifolds problem on the regular 430, but I guess they are different on the Scud?

Scuderia are used to have problems if you let them sit in a garage than being driven. A friend of mines has over 100'000 km on his scud and no issues. My Scuderia sat still ina garage for over 2 years and had problems with gearbox.

Buy the car with Ferrari New Power warranty and you'll drive trouble free. Only have to check CCM discs and clutch.

I don't think that Ferrari keep service records -- the book would have to be stamped. If not maybe you can obtain the name of the dealer(s) where it was serviced and they should be able to let you have copies.

plug an SD3 in and you'll get all your service records from your car.

Maybe I should make this clear - I am in Bulgaria and the car is in Italy, so I can't see it for myself, but the service book is all stamped and the car is always maintained on the same place. The dealer says it is in top condition and it has been checked by the dealer 1500 miles ago, when they found nothing and they have just changed the filters and the tires. The gearbox is what worries me the most, because I assume it is the most expensive item to fix... Correct me if I'm wrong.

They do since updating to Modis.
If you create an owner profile on Ferrari.com, once they have verified you are the owner you will see the cars history complete including delivery mileage, PDI date and original dealer, all services and warranty visits etc including campaigns outstanding.

Couple of pics attached. The first is the main profile page and shows when I acquired the car in 2011, and second image shows original delivery date and mileage and the second entry is the PDI. The services and dealer visits can all be viewed between current date and original delivery.
