The old computer with all my ECU data is getting pretty old and beat-up. I was fortunate enough to find 4 of the ECU software discs ((1.) Base system disc (2.) 575M disc (3.) 360 Modena disc and (4.)the Enzo Disc)) and re installed the SD2 system on a fresh new ThinkPad. Problem is I only found the discs for half of the total ECU's i have on my old DynaBook. Does anyone know if I can copy and paste the missing ECU's to the system folder of my newer computer, or do they need to be processed thru the SD2 software UPDATE option? I would hate to corrupt any data that may be missing from the install files on the disc.
Is there anyone that still sells the software? in case I have to go that route. If anyone needs the software I have listed above, feel free to contact me.

I would recommend running a virtual instance replica of your old machine on a new one via VMware or MS virtual PC. Just need to make sure the device hosting the virtual enviornment has the same hardware capabilites to support the connection to the car.

As to software. I would love to have a copy.

You should be able to just copy them over to the new folder. They only have to go through the SD2 portal when you load indvidual diagnostic software to the tester. Remember it's the folder your updating NOT the tester...

If you still have issues PM me...i have sd2 SW files...

Will a virtual instance work through the interface port ? I had issues getting something very different to work through USB in a virtual machine.

I would dearly love to get a copy of this for my 360! Love it enough that I would buy a whole new laptop just for it.

It is imperative to insure the platform the virtualization software is hosted on has supported peripherals.

I have been thinking about this and even with the proper software you would still the cabling. I thought the sd2 was a special computer not just software, so there is hope I can find one

The software can be run on any computer that can handle the minimum requirements.
    *Pentium 133MHz Processor
    *16MB RAM
    *1GB Memory on Hard Disk.
    *800x600 65535-color Video Card
    *1 serial port
    *1 parallel port
    *Windows 95
    *Monitor
    *Keyboard
    *Mouse
One thing to consider is that the computer needs to have the required serial and parallel port interfaces. The ThinkPad was my weapon of choice because it offers the mini dock expansion dock that adds these ports with little effort, and are practically native to the machine when connected.
The SD2 tester and cables are required to communicate with the car. Without that, the software is just a tumor on your hard drive.
Thanks to all the awesome people on here offering to help. This is a great place to collaborate with other like minded gear heads!!

ok, thanks, I thought it was more than software and cables and it is. I had never heard of the software part of it, I have seen the unit itself and was surprised when I read about the software here.

ok, I still have to hunt down a unit for myself :) (yes, I know, getting the winning lottery numbers might be easier)

@fmaderi Thanks for the offer, but the reason I am trying to transfer all this software to my ThinkPad is because I am condensing my Tuning and Diagnostic arsenal. I have a total of 5 Laptops all with different OS and software. Now all is running in one Think Pad. I have Win 7 Pro and can run things in Compatibility modes. I created a Partition for WinXP, and Linux, just to have a native environment for my older interfaces. Now I have SD2, LDAS32, IDC4, and other Misc Diagnostic tools on the same Laptop as my K-Suite, WinOLS, ECM Titanium, PWGPro...... software. Also run my EPROM Emulator on this PC. It's great. Like I mentioned before, ThinkPad is the best way to go because of the Expansion Dock. Makes it work like a desktop PC.

Rey- Contact Maranello Classic Parts and they should be able to help you. Do you have the part number? If not, they can probably still run it down for you.

Louie said he had the Enzo disc, so at the very least he should be able to give you the part number.

    Hello There
I don't have the CD to check the Version of the ENZO software; however what I now is the following:
    Software on tester (SD2)
    Motronic Bosch ENZo
    Sospensioni Skyhook Enzo
    Cambio Marelli Enzo
    Air bag TRW Enzo

I don't have anything for the enzo in the laptop, just 360 and 575
    Thanks

Hey Daniel I just got back from a short vacation, This evening I start to transfers the files, first I tried copy and paste and that did not work, so I burn a CD with the files in the UBS stick and runs a new WSDC32 software in a clean laptop, then Maintenance > Update > installed the CD and WHALA... for what I can see I thing I have all the ECU/files and vehicles the SD2 support. however don't see the "cruscotto" application for the Instrument cluster in the ENZO; do you happens to know if this is possible using different application name? or anybody here know what ECU/application should I use to communicate with the Instrument cluster in a 2003 ENZO?
Thanks again Daniel I really appreciate your help.

If anyone is interested, I have reproduced the cables for the SD2. This includes the cable that connects to the OBD2 port on the car with several female Tyco plugs, the cable that connects to the SD2 and has four male Tyco connectors and the serial port on your PC and the small data transfer cable with the nine pin serial connector and the small six pin Hirose plug.

PM me if you need any of these. I have been making these for several shops.

    Regards,

    Steve
