I was able to acquire another hard to find part, an SE30 complete steering wheel (only the Alcantara is missing on the rubber triangle)! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I do not know of any Jota kits for sale at this time, the last two (which were kept as spare parts) were sold by the factory about 3 years ago one went to the USA and the other one to Japan. Besides the cost of the kit there is also the installation to take into consideration (engine out job) and the painting of the new engine cover. I have spoken to several people that were involved in the original installation of the Jota kits, such as Mr. Savioli, and also owners and/or people that have driven a Jota and I always hear the same reply: it is a track modification - when the power band comes on it is not very easy to control - especially on the street. This explains why many of the original Jota cars have been either written off or suffered accident damage. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have to agree, owning a JOTA and having driven it a lot compared to my standard SE cars. The JOTA is great, souns great, drives great...untill you get on it...then, unless you can drive well and KNOW what to do with the car..it is a handfull very very close to my track set-up GTR Diablo. But one thing IS FOR SURE..the JOTA has YET to come into it's realm of value as a one of a kind car that DID make a lot of people sit up and notice Lamborghini in 1994 and just as much today when you see and hear a JOTA.. I guess thats why I took mine off of the market and it is currently at George Evan's getting a full re-do from head to toe no exspense sparred to make it even that much better then when it left the factory... I would say 3-4 months work, full engine out, rebuild, suspension, you name it..I want the BEST JOTA money can buy on the earth..and with under 6K miles on it..was the right thing to do.
Hi, the UK purple Jota had the kit removed years ago. The car ended up in Japan I heard and the Jota kit possibly went with the car. Maybe it's still in the UK and possibly worth checking out if you are thinking of putting one on your black car.
Nice find. Looks like this factory Jota had the rubber completely removed Image Unavailable, Please Login
most expensive SE30 on the market ...... http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/showDetails.html?id=140683982&__lp=4&scopeId=C&makeModelVariant1.makeId=14600&makeModelVariant1.modelId=3&lang=en&pageNumber=4
This was the showcar at the 1995 Ruote & Motori Lanciano Motorshow. Note the electric windows and leather on the doors. It has been for sale at a dealership in Avellino for a long time, I think for at least 10 years, and it is still on their website. Asking price in 2002 for this car was 130.000 Euros.
Fantastic! If you've managed to locate the Jota kit, it's probably the only one available anywhere in the world right now. Keep us posted.
I had a chance meeting with a old friend of mine, I was talking to him to the chances of doing the conversion and he seemed confident that the parts can all be sourced from various places. Like I say its still early stages, and just a idea still
One question to SE 30 owners... How do you use this car super heavy clutch ( I think it's the heaviest of all clutch ) Is there any technique... I can't see how one can get the car through traffic....lol
I dont find any heavier than the F40 or even my Lotus Cortina race car, but I dont think I've ever driven it in large amounts of stop / start traffic to find it a problem
