This car was in the Frei Collection at Affolter for years, most likely they never registred under their name.

......oh, i mixed it up, i thought you're asking if the XJ220 was in Walter Frey's collection of Emil Frey. Regarding the SE30, just checked and yes.......was registred under Mr. Frei's wife.

Why can't you simply congratulate the new owner, and stop there? :(

Is this the same behavior that gave you the FChat record of being banned after your very first post, and are you planning on improving that record?

Allow me to address your comments as best as I can.

This car is Certified by one Signor Valentino Balboni, written & signed on January the 9th 2016, its the only Certification that matters to this owner :)

As regards the windows, we considered one with standard SE30 windows, a black car for sale in Switzerland, and unfortunately, it has the cool-looking but completely useless items that also cause window lamination.

Just a few cars had full-access electric windows done by the factory http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/136283174-post57.html & http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/143828760-post1223.html and a few more you can see below, although, knowing this would actually involve a bit of research

These cars are quite rare amongst SE30s, a Bianco/Bianco SE30, even more so.

That said, I cannot tell you if the "S" in SE30 is Spinto, Super or Special.

...just saying...still prefering the original SE30 windows than the much haevier standard ones, esp. as at least 2 SE30's had them replaced (by standard ones....)...as an excellent researcher you might know what cars i'm talking about. So, it's always good to have an SE30 certified by lamborghini.....or then VB.

BTW: for a few cars SE might stand for Standard Electric (windows...)

    Have fun!

    That looks stunning in white.

It is my understanding that SE stands for Speciale Edition.

Presently, most people know that factory certification is nigh-on worthless and doesn't justify the 1,000 Euros you pay, they can't even get color designations correct. Most astute collectors much prefer certification by someone knowledgeable like VB http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144567718-post93.html in fact, I think his certification adds value.

Some research will show that least 6 SE30s had electric windows installed by the works, and their practicality makes them desirable, not to mention rare. In fact, as an SE30 owner myself, I'd say the SE30 slot-windows are the worst feature of the car, certainly the most useless, and, I know that a number of my clients have passed on owning one because of that very feature. I wouldn't worry about the extra weight of electric windows, its negligible, because the SE30 windows used glass instead of plexiglas! As you mentioned, the car weighs more than stated dry-weight, so whats a few more lbs? :)

Everyone has been complimentary about the Bianco SE30 except you, likely because your car was passed over, and remains for sale with no takers 6 months after you've tried to promote it for sale here without being a sponsor (a TOU violation). Sounds like Sour Grapes to me.

Congrats to the new owner, 051 is a very original and interesting car with several options, one of at least 3 in this color combination

At least 19 production cars had electric windows installed; I would estimate about 20-25 SE in total

First thing that comes to mind is "special edition 30 anniversary", which I believe isn't far from truth.
The logo just nails it, lol.

Thanks for clarifying, you would know. I believe one of the Bianco/Bianco SE30s was a USA-spec car.

Congratulations on the purchase! I am sure that it is a joy to drive! It would be interesting to see what modifications the factory carried out on the CF inner door. I imagine that the CF knob was ommitted - is the CF inner door panel withiut the knob hole? Where is the power window switch positioned? I know of one USA model in which the modification was carried out Stateside, i bought the small windows lefy over from the conversion.

I think i can explain how they hide the hole in the inner door panel. All cars with electric windows have leather on the cf panels. So the leather surface hide this hole.

First picture is #51, the other two are #107. This car doesn´t exist anymore. Parted out from eurospares some years ago. I´m not 100% sure but it was a former german car.

    Regards,
    Leo

    Leo,
Thank you for the clarification. Although the dull CF doors are a distingushing factor of the SE30 and covering them with leather seems a shame.
I think that the black CF side fins i bought from Ebay UK about 4 years ago come from this car. Amazing how light the fins are!

The dullness of the CF is a trait of the SE30. Other cars of the era had gloss CF which makes the SE30 look like its faded.

At least one of the SE30's that had this done was John M.'s car - they put SV door panels in. In his case I think this was done by the factory.

I have to admit to being a fence-sitter on this topic... I think the little quarter windows are the cool & purposeful identifying mark of the SE30 that tips off the eye to what the car really is. Having been in John's car, the extra weight of the windows didn't seem to slow it down a bit and I am jealous that I can't roll mine down. The little windows are cool but Joe's right - they're useless and don't function well.

People ask me what the fingerprints all over those little windows are from - when anyone rolls the window down the snubber jams, and you have to try to grab the glass and pull it back up! Oh well... they do look cool.

This was another SE30 weight reduction item - "dry carbon" with far less resin than normal. Like the little window-ettes it is a trademark of the SE30 that probably is pointless in it's individual contribution to the weight savings, but as one of many straws eventually totals a significant difference.
