    Now I recall that I read Lamborghini was not willing to pay for certifying the modified SE30 motor in America (due to such a small USA production run) with the titanium internal components, etc - interesting to know if also the crank, lightened by 7.5 Kg, was installed in the USA version - this makes the engine rev so much quicker!

    those are pictures of at least 2 different cars

    the car with the interior picture is a white car (notice door in upper left and right side mirror) + burgundy alcantara (one of one), #150 and is a factory Jota:

    The anniversary purple photos are of what appears to be a European SE30, no clue which number.

    Another thing on my to do list was to repaint the instrument cluster housing, the original protection deteriorates over time and becomes sticky and bubbly - will remove and respray.

    Since all the other interior parts are carbon you would figure that Lamborghini would have made this part in CF as well.

    Debating whether to paint matt black or use plastidip spray for the original soft touch, any suggestions? Also what was the original color of the instrument cluster? Was it black or slightly charcoal?

    When refinishing I used flat black, could not get a good finish using rubberized paint. Also resealed all the gauges, moisture was entering and fogging the glass.

    Thanks JTSE30, I am inclined to go with a primer and then a satin finish black paint. The soft finishes have too much texture. The Diablo instrument cluster is soooo much easier to remove than that of the Countach!

    I was snle to match the original dark grey satin finish gor the instrument cluster. I took advantage of the situation and had all the instruments calibrated and serviced. Quite satisfied with the final result

    The mirror gaskets installed are official Lamborghini spare parts which I purchased back in 2009 and stored. I heard from a fellow member that the current spares offered by Lamborghini no longer permit a good fit - these have a perfect fit

    Since when has the USA been a small consumer of any Lamborghini model? Plus we don’t certify cars based on engine parts.. we care about emissions and crash testing that’s it, so this information I’m afraid makes no sense.

    i think the thing was emissions related ....about the SE30 european engine hard to make pass US rules

    please note for the same reasons the USA and european regular diablos were not the same to: precats on states cars and also timing is not 100% same
    also side markers, belts...etc.. etc

    USA was a BIG market then for lambo and still is
    but the SE30 for USA were only 25 cars...so a small production run indeed

    afaik factory opted for an engine that is more related to a 93 US diablo model than european SE30 engine
