I believe there were about 35 - 40 in Purple 30 - quite a few in red, black, silver and white and several one-off colors. Maybe some can chime in with precise numbers?
I am a huge fan of the SE30. Thank you John for keeping records of vintage Lamborghini's. The community is lucky to have you! As time goes on more and more people will come back to old school Lambo's.
Only guy I know of that maybe had an SE30 or Jota, was a Scottish guy related to the design of the original GTA game and lemmings game I’m sure. I’m 80% sure he had a lilac one back in the late 90’s/early 2000’s
Just watched 60 mins Australia episode on YouTube regarding the corrupt African tyrant. At around 4:50, it’s shows his son splashing the cash and diving a white SE30. Video I think was some time ago
Apparently if you watch the video and see his hair waving in the Diablo - it's because it had no windscreen. His original SE30 that was supposed to be in the video was crashed by a friend, he bought that second one, ordered that nobody was to drive it, and when he arrived to film it had a cracked windscreen that nobody would own up to. Ended up taking the windscreen out, and completing the video.
Someone involved with JKs cars says the following is the actual story of Jay Kay and his SE30s. Kay purchased an SE30 in the UK which a friend crashed badly in London, that car was written-off and parted out. With the shoot of his Cosmic Girl imminent, Kay needed to find a replacement for the crashed car and he did, my colleague Sheikh Amari sold him 142/150 just in time for the cars to be transported to Southern Spain for the shoot of the video. Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason allowed his F40 78122 to be used for the shoot, that's his famed car in the video. In the video you can see that the SE30 does in fact have a windscreen in some of the scenes, however was damaged when one of the camera suction cups failed at speed and the windscreen was badly cracked, so they had no choice but to have it removed and continue shooting, that's why there is no windscreen in some of the footage.
Hello all. I acquired SE30 #143 (RHD) about 12 months ago. With the aim of taking the car back to its factory specification and condition, it has since had 1000 man hours spent on a bare metal respray and mechanical restoration work, and is now having a full interior retrim. The retrim has posed some questions which I was hoping could be answered by the collective knowledge of this forum’s members, namely: 1. The Certificate of Vehicle Original Configuration states the orginal interior colour as “grey with Sabbia (sand) pipings”. Polostorico have been unable to help me match Sabbia to an alcantara code. Does anybody know how I could resolve this? The exterior colour is Yellow Fly. 2. There doesn’t seem to have been many cars supplied with a contrast interior colour, however the car tested in period by Autocar (UK) did. One of the photos of that car shows that the steering wheel was leather bound and stitched in the contrast colour. Does anybody know if this was typical? 3. Finally, again for cars supplied with a contrast interior colour, does anybody know whether the mats were trimmed with the contrast colour? Many thanks.
Del Hopkins may have the original specification sheet - I recall mine lists the Alcantara colours for my SV, one of which is no longer available. I presume you have seen this guide.. https://www.alcantara.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Cartella-Colore-Automotive.pdf
I just have some period photos from AMARI, who owned the car back than. On one or two photos you can see it has contrast piping (sometimes even the factory records are not correct).... I inspected 138/150 in Auckland around 2008 (it had come from Singapore). It had a HUGE amp\speaker system the CF storage boxes behind the seats were cut out to house the speakers. When I saw it the dash/tunnel was grey alcantara but the seats in black leather. There should be some pics in this thread. The lights and rims were yellow as well. What color was it when you purchased it?
