Let me first say "thank you" to all of you for participating in this forum. Over the past months I have been searching for my car, an F355. It is fair to say that I have spent hours reading threads and learning all I could from your past experiences. Tomorrow, I am heading back to a dealer to revisit a car that has the possability of finding its way to my garage.

Before I have the car sent for a PPI can anyone help me with this VIN #ZFFXR48A7X0113576?

Big step for me and want to make sure!

    Thanks for the information!

What you provided matches up. They have dropped the price since August as well.

If they own it, they won't be as flexible with the price. I've found that if a car is on consignment, the sales guy is usually more aligned with you & anything that leads to a quick sale (& commission). Always good to understand how much leverage you have over the dealer. Just food for thought.

In my opinion, the best strategy might be to not negotiate as much on price but on condition... get the price to a range that you feel is a good value for a car of that vintage/year in excellent shape. Make it clear the offer is based on the car being in excellent condition per the PPI. If it comes up in the PPI that there are leaks, it needs a major service, needs new clutch, etc., get the dealer to tell the seller that he needs to do that to get the car up to par. The dealer will be aligned with that as they get the income & they get you as a happy customer. Just some thoughts.

Agree fully and that is the road I have taken. The first thing I looked at were the service records and ownership history. I have even gone to the local F dealer and met with a service rep who knows the car as well. He was able to check the history on service as well. My thought is the more information I have on the car, the better. Having looked at 4 cars, I do know that there are certin things that create value in this car and lack of things that decrease value.

I know the owner of this car. He bought it back in 2003 from DC motors with I believe 9k miles. The car was originally a lease from Steve Harris Ferrari in SLC.
When the owner first got it he put the stereo in ...blah blah blah....
I would not worry a single minute about buying it!
