If anyone knows of a 1983-1985 black exterior with red interior 308gts qv for sale please let me know. I have exhausted all the avenues I can think of. It doesn't seem the Ferrari dealers I have contacted are interested in looking. They say it is such a rare and not popular color it is not worth their time to look. Ouch! That hurts! That color combo may not be popular but it just seems to fit my personality. I am not ready to settle for any other color. I have wanted a Ferrari since I was kid and the time has come. Thank you in advance for all your help. P.S.-There was one at Daniel Schmitt but I was told to steer away from him at all costs. He was asking $38,000 for a 1985 with no records past 32,000 miles. It has 58,000 miles on it now. I don't know if he still has it. I was thinking of offering him $20,000 for it. Am I stupid for doing this? Thanks again. Samson

I'd love to find the same in GTB form. How much time has lapsed in those undocumented 26,000 miles? I'd be weary but if he would accept $20k, I would even go for it if body/paint/interior were in great shape.

1992 was the last service records. This to me sends up a GIGANTIC red flag. I was told that this guy cannot be trusted. I will continue my search.

Kind of late, but I looked at a black/red '85 308GTS at Marshall Goldman in Cleveland early last year. 17K miles showing on the odometer, deep front spoiler. It had the usual minor driver's seat bolster wear, but close to a perfect car. It bounced around to a couple of wholesalers, because those colors aren't in demand and the price was $45K or so - not sure where it ended up, but their phone # is 216.831.9191. Talk to Marshall. PM me if you want my name to mention - my brother's in the car business in Cleveland. Goldman is reputable but his prices are high - but '80s Ferrari's aren't easy to get in Ohio.

It sounds nuts to chase around a car that was sold, but in my experience these cars tend come on the market every couple of years. It is a rare color combination, and this is probably the best one left in original black/red.

    Good luck!

I have an 85 308GTSI QV that will be up for sale after I get done doing a Very major service...its Black Metallic with a Crema interior... but you could do a redye in red... you can get the dye from Leatherique.... its got 86K miles with a complete engine rebuild at 60K miles, and will have new rear head, valves guides etc.. fresh belts, rebuilt pump etc... check out Cam belt broke anyone wanna help... for all the details... I've had this car since 1994, and its time to move on up to either a 328 or 355... probabbly will be a 328. car is a good driver, with very good original paint, leather is clean and supple.

The Crema takes a lot of care to keep clean, the carpet is med brown, so red would blend well. there is no radio/CD installed, but alpine speakers, etc... come stock... I can document Thousands spend on this car! its not concours, but is a good solid car.

I will follow up and call Marshall Goldman. As far as the 328 is concerned, the interior switches on the console changed from slides to rockers and it just doesn't evoke the same feeling to me. The slides are just in keeping with my personality. A bit more "retro". I hope you can understand what I mean.
