    Hi fellow EU chatters.

On october 19th me and my wife are visiting the factory in Maranello.
We are planning to leave on monday at noon, drive to CH and stay there for the night. On Tuesday we will drive to Maranello and stay at the planet hotel.
Wednesday the factory visit, some other appointments there and leaving in the noon/afternoon to go home again. Driving straight home or staying at a hotel in CH or southern D, depends on how sleepy we are.

Does anybody know a good place in CH to stay over on mondayevening? Ofcourse the easiest is a hotel/motel next to the highway but we prefer a place with a good and SAFE parking for the Mondial. I'm affraid I have to buy a few new emblems next day if it is not a secured parking.
Maybe one of the CH guys has some advice?
We drive from Karlsruhe, Basel, Luzern,Bellinzona, Milano.

    Thanks in advance!!
    Roel.

Honestly, I would not be worried that much about safe parking. Except for downtown Geneva or Zürich where vandalism does unfortunately occur occasionally, Switzerland is a safe haven in comparison with other countries. There's really nothing to be paranoid about. Consequence: what you'd define as secure parking is not easy to find.

The answer also depends on what your budget is.
My recommendation would be Ticino i.e. put the Gothard behind you.
I know a nice hotel at Monte Bre sopra Locarno, very narrow and twisty road to get up there but the view is superb, the place extremely quiet and the food is good. Not luxurious at all, but friendly owners and there's a small pool in the garden if the temp is still warm enough. Your beloved emblems will be safe.
Otherwise, a hotel downtown Lugano may be nice too if you prefer some city life. I stayed once at a hotel I cannot find the name of right beside the Lugano train station. A tad noisy, but tidy, a nice garden, swimming pool and a parking you'll find reasonably safe.
    Otherwise, try http://www.ticinohotel.ch/

Roel, Ze-Shark is right, I wouldn't worry too much about parking your car in a hotel car park in Switzerland. I'v left mine in multi storey car parks in the middle of Luzern, Lugano and Bern over a weekend, without any problems.

As far as hotels go, I can recomend the Hotel Schloss Bad Ragaz. Its away in the country, so very safe for your car, good food and spa facilities.

Thanks Simon and ZeShark for input.
We are looking for a hotel near the highway.
Because I expect arriving after 21.00 and leaving very early again.
So, spa and pools aren't necessary.
We don't want to drive "into" the country to far......

But is really good to hear CH is still a safe country!!
